While researching possible reasons why Jo Cox was targeted for assassination, I was unable to find much. With the assumption that it was politically motivated, the only two mentions of her political career were fairly banal, the exception being that she was instrumental in getting the British military involved in the conflict in Syria, and then it sounds like she withdrew her support when things did not go the way she wanted them too, which to me indicates weakness, but that does not seem "assassination-worthy". So I'm wondering why, and I assume many other people will be wondering why as well. Was Cox responsible for the massive influx of so-called "refugees" from places like Syria, and was she assassinated in response to that? Most (if not all) UK media outlets are reporting that the shooter is, according to witnesses, said to have yelled "Britain first" during his attack on Jo Cox, including right-leaning newspapers:
