In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. This iconic and widely recognized (within the industry) historic image shows that the members of Microsoft, contrary to most other contemporary business organizations, allowed non-business attire and attitudes. It also shows these people together in a pivotal time in their lives and the history of the company.

To illustrate discussions about this famous image in articles or sections about Microsoft's history and origins; or to show the individuals involved in this part of their lives, if necessary .

If this image is used merely to show what an individual in the lineup looks like, it can be replaced by a contemporary free image of the person. • where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it;
• on the English-language Misplaced Pages, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation;

Additionally, the copyright holder may have granted permission for use in works such as Misplaced Pages. However, if they have, this permission likely does not fall under a free license.
