'''''Doctor's Advocate''''' is a ] by ] ] released ]. ''Doctor's Advocate'' is The Game's ] and is a reference to rap pioneer ] who essentially "found" The Game, according to The Game himself. The album has many of the same producers that his first album did, including ] and ]. In contrast to his debut, this album features no production from Aftermath CEO and famed hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, although longtime Dre collaborator ] produced two songs on the album.

The album was originally intended by The Game to be released on ], ]. It had been delayed several times for further work. Since then, The Game has switched from his former label, ] to ] in order to eliminate his contractual obligations to ]'s ], although the label is still under the ] distribution label. The Doctor's Advocate had no input from Dr. Dre because The Game did not want rappers with whom he had beef with saying that the success of the album was only due to Dre's involvement. The Game addresses the situation on the album's title track, "Doctor's Advocate."
