Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Misplaced Pages:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Misplaced Pages:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. November 2016

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you tried to give New Orleans Zephyrs a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Misplaced Pages has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Misplaced Pages:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Sprenger Stadium

Thanks for your updates on the Sprenger Stadium article. One thing to be aware of is in updating related articles, name changes don't alter history, so avoid changing the name to the new name in articles or references that are from a specific time; keep whatever the name was at the time the event happened. For instance, the 2016 Mid-American Conference Baseball Tournament was played at All Pro Freight Stadium since that's what the park was known as when it happened. You don't even have to update the wikilink since it will go straight to the Sprenger Stadium article. The same is true for references to the park in other articles, such as at your edit at Kent State Golden Flashes baseball. All of those events in KSU baseball history were when the park was known by its previous name. Another one was this edit in the Sprenger Stadium article itself, which simply changed every instance of "All Pro Freight" to "Sprenger", altering the citation for Cleveland State baseball, even though the referenced article title is "Vikings To Play Home Baseball Games at All Pro Freight Stadium", which is from 2009. Now, for references like this where it should show the current name, then yes, it should be updated to the new name. I will investigate further what acceptable news sites are, however I find your characterization of HuffPo et al. as "fake news" to be very much biased in itself. Separate issue, reporting the *fact* that Snopes reported something, is not, in itself, using a biased news source as a reference, it is referring to the *fact* that such a (as you put it) fake news site reported something. James, I agree generally with what that chart says, however look where Huffington Post falls. It is actually full of facts. For Daily Kos you have a point, it is a self-professed "liberal blog". However, I stand by my statement that the use of the term "fake news" is biased. Originally, "fake news" meant actual, fake news. Now, President Trump is using it against CNN and other mainstream truthful news sources. This is not ad hominem, I am saying that I find that term to be indicative of a certain political hue, pro-Trump, and it would be better to use another more accurate term such as "blog with a political slant" rather than the politically biased, loaded, pro-Trump term "fake news".Keizers (talk)

SVG files are almost always preferred for logos. Second, you did not provide a source for this logo. The MLS website still shows the SVG style logo as being Portland's logo. Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you tried to give Tampa Yankees a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Misplaced Pages has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Misplaced Pages:Requests for history merge. Thank you. You'll see a deletion discussion at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/USL Atlanta that concluded that until they play their first games, it should be redirected. I would even argue that if they start generating a lot of local news, it would be acceptable to "recreate" the article and add those news stories.
