Copying within Misplaced Pages requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you copied or moved text from Triconex into Vulnerability of nuclear plants to attack. While you are welcome to re-use Misplaced Pages's content, here or elsewhere, Misplaced Pages's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Misplaced Pages, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from ]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. Thank you.

Change of archival links on Cyber Anakin

Hi there. Could you tell me why you're changing what appear to be valid archive links on Cyber Anakin for other archive links? Sideswipe9th (talk) 22:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

The archive links contains a bar to visit other time versions, in this case his profile, which in my experience (when dealing with past BLP cases) may inadvertently contain info such as home addresses and so on which would invite problems to Misplaced Pages and even beyond if they found out and aren't comfortable with it. Since the Wayback Machine does not have the ability hide a page from a given time, instead of by wholesale as they do now, re-archiving seems to be the only way to go when wanting to adhere BLP policies and preventing the loss of information at the same time.2800:A8:A01:A1:35C0:A77E:D72E:23E3 (talk) 22:39, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
I can honestly say that in all my time editing BLP articles, I have never seen that be an issue. While I have seen and on occasion been responsible for removing BLP violating content on an article, we have never done so by deliberately hiding the archive history on Wayback Machine or archive.today as you are doing. I'm pretty familiar with our policy on BLP and using archival links, and what you're doing isn't supported by those policies and guidelines. Sideswipe9th (talk) 23:01, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

June 2022

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cyber Anakin. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sideswipe9th (talk) 23:11, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
