Hugh Fraser, 1st Baron Fraser of Allander (19031966) was the grandson of Hugh Fraser, and the father of Sir Hugh Fraser, 2nd Baronet. He was created as a baronet in 1961, and subsequently as a Baron in 1964.

In 1945 he purchased Mugdock Castle from the Duke of Montrose.
