27712 Pacific Coast Highway is a house in Malibu, California designed by the architect Tadao Ando. It was built in for the art collectors Maria and Bill Bell, Jr.
The house is located on a 6-acre plot on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. It was commissioned in 1999 and took 15 years to be completed. The house is 40,000 sq ft. 7,645 cubic yards of concrete were used in the construction of the house. The house is L-shaped and was described by Jack Flemming of The Los Angeles Times as having "vast, open spaces marked by concrete hallways and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass". The house has a large swimming pool and cabana with lawns extending over its site on a cliff top overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The property was sold for $14.5 million to the art collectors Maria and Bill Bell, Jr. in 2003 who commissioned the modernist architect Tadao Ando to build the new house which took fifteen years to complete.
The house was sold in May 2023 to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for $200 million, establishing a new record for the most expensive residence sold in California. The previous record had been established by the house next door to 27712 Pacific Coast Highway, which was bought by businessman Marc Andreessen for $177 million in 2021. The deal was done off-market with the owners reportedly floating an asking price of $295 million.
