The 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship (officially known as the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship) is a college football bowl game that is scheduled to be played on January 20, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The eleventh College Football Playoff National Championship will determine the national champion of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for the 2024 season. It will be the final game of the 2024–25 College Football Playoff (CFP), the first CFP National Championship under the 12-team format, and aside from any all-star games afterwards, the culminating game of the 2024–25 bowl season. It will be televised nationally by ESPN.
Background
Host selection
Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta was chosen for the game on August 16, 2022, replacing the orignally-scheduled Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada because of a conflict with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Venue
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a 71,000-seat venue in Atlanta, Georgia opened in August 2017. The retractable roof stadium is the regular host of the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL), the Peach Bowl, the Celebration Bowl, the SEC Championship Game, and the annual Aflac Kickoff Game (previously known as the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game). moving from the now-demolished Georgia Dome. Additionally, it hosted the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship and Super Bowl LIII in 2019, and it is scheduled to host multiple matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Main article: 2024-25 College Football PlayoffThe game will be the eleventh in College Football Playoff history, and will be the first national championship game under the expanded College Football Playoff, which features 12 teams instead of 4.
