100
Upon look at the edit history I see the list used to be 100 entries there was then a discussion to trim it down to the current size the discussion however was in favor of keeping the list at 100 the user seemingly overruled the consensus and trimmed it anyway I think that with more realablie sources for older people such as lq eso and las that a 100 person list can be maintained Wwew345t (talk) 05:14, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- It seems that one certain person whom I won't name rules all the Wiki "oldest people" pages with an iron fist. This person changes edits at will and for no reason except that she wants to. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 00:27, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
The oldest living person is 126 years old
Turkish women named Ayşe Bayrı is borin in 1898 8th of june is still currently living and 126 years old there has been news interviews in Turkey, she saw 3 sultans and every president in Turkey, therefore i request an edit. - Not done There is no inclusion without verification from reliable sources. What constitutes a reliable source on longevity? Please see Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Longevity#Sourcing. Peaceray (talk) 05:29, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Peaceray, she does seem to be a real person.

- WP:WikiProject Longevity#Sourcing applies. Like WP:Identifying reliable sources (medicine), the governing WikiProject for this list is WP:WikiProject Longevity. See WP:Reliable sources#Reliability in specific contexts.
- As WP:WikiProject Longevity#Database states, the
Guinness World Records is a reliable source for ages, for dates of birth and death, and for whether an individual holds or held a record for human longevity.
&Gerontology Research Group's (GRG) Table E (verified supercentenarians)
has been found to be a reliable sourcebecause all entries in these tables are fact-checked according to the process outlined here.
- WP:WikiProject Longevity#Obituaries and newspaper articles states that
Newspaper-written articles and obituaries may or may not be reliable sources. When in doubt, ask editors at
the Reliable Sources Noticeboard (RSN)whether a particular newspaper article is a reliable source for birth and/or death dates and age in a particular article.
Thus, a single newspaper article may not be considered a reliable source for age. - Since the GRG seems to be the ultimate test of supercentenarians claims, I would suggest contacting them with the newspaper article.
- I think that I have explained the process as best as I can. @DerbyCountyinNZ and Softmist:, you are two are among the most frequent editors who have recently edited this list. Do you have anything to add? @Georgia guy, TFBCT, and Newshunter12: You were once active pretty active here. Do you have anything to add? Peaceray (talk) 16:26, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- We can put her in the Longevity claims article. Georgia guy (talk) 16:32, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
