Czech (again)

What about going along those lines? - In 1988, Czechoslovakia officially recognised Palestine and this act was carried over to its legal successor Czechia. Lately, the government of Peter Fiala, in line with its pro-Israeli policy, began to question the continuing recognition, arguing that there is currently no Palestinian entity fulfilling the criteria of an independent state. However, Czechia did not formally revoke the 1988 act, and the Czech government and the Palestinian Authority continue to maintain diplomatic relations. Proposal:

Proposal to Split the List of States into Two Collapsible Sections

I propose splitting the “List of States” into two collapsible sections to improve the readability and navigation of the page on mobile devices. The two sections could be titled:

1. Diplomatic recognition(s) 2. No diplomatic recognition

This separation would help readers quickly identify the categories of states and entities listed, making the information more accessible.

Additionally, I would like to inquire whether the “Sovereign Military Order of Malta,” which lacks territorial sovereignty, should be grouped alongside partially recognized states like Kosovo and the Republic of China (Taiwan). That’s not possible. You have to show all of them together. Even with recognition or diplomatic relations. Just keep this table as it is. If more countries recognize the State of Palestine then add them on the table. But the format must stay the same. YDMCFreshMeadows192 (talk) 18:22, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Not done for now. There is recognition of sovereignty between states, and then there are diplomatic relations between governments or similar entities. The two are often, but not always, aligned. If anything, the table could have two separate columns, one mentioning the recognition status and the other, whether diplomatic relations have been established. — kashmīrī  18:56, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

France recognized Palestine this summer

Treating this as an edit request, there is no decision yet. The French parliament voted in 2014 to recognize and Macron is thinking about it, under some pressure from the left. Selfstudier (talk) 08:57, 7 September 2024 (UTC)

Ireland has full diplomatic relations with the State of Palestine

In the list of countries with diplomatic relations with Palestine the article falsely states that Ireland does not have relations with Palestine. In a press release by the Irish government dated 28 May 2024 it states that "Ireland recognises the State of Palestine". The release continues, "At a meeting of government today (May 28th) Ireland formally recognised the State of Palestine. The Government recognises Palestine as a sovereign and independent state and agreed to establish full diplomatic relations between Dublin and Ramallah. Read the text again. It says agreed to which means that the two have not established ties effectively. If the article said decided to, then it would mean that they did establish ties immediately. Underdwarf58 (talk) 13:33, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

Use of quotation marks around Palestine violates NPOV

I hereby start a public inquiry if the quotation marks that are present at this time in the very last paragraph of the article should be removed:

"In an objection of 16 May 2014, Israel informed the Secretary General of the United Nations that it did not consider that 'Palestine' (single quotation marks in original)..."

It is already stated that Israel is using quotation marks in its communication. The actual use of quotation marks around Palestine is useless and violates NPOV. Please deliver your For, Against and Neutral statements here:
