The Early 1989 Demos refers to a series of self-released cassette demos produced by The Smashing Pumpkins, which were distributed and sold by the band during their early performances in Chicago, Illinois, in 1989. These self-released demos were their final releases until their first single I Am One in 1990, and later their first album Gish in 1991. In 1995, these songs were compiled into a commercial bootleg and sold by the record label "Chance Records, Inc.''
