Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Misplaced Pages's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, offline publication, article improvement contests, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Carom 02:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Flight corporal image
Hi,
I've thought about the flight corporal image for a while, but I'm still not sure that we can edit a military insignia and then use it in Misplaced Pages. What do you think about asking for some guidance from somebody more experienced... there's a copyright problems noticeboard that we could post the question at.. Let me know. Or you could just post the question. Sancho 21:44, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Administratorship nomination
Hey, Matt. It is with a heavy heart that I must decline your nomination for my administratorship. I just don't think I deserve it yet. Also, I'd feel kind of guilty if I became an admin after being nominated by someone I know personally; that's kind of unfair. It's also known as nepotism. VolatileChemical 02:24, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application
Dear Dreamafter,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel 04:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

- usually you'll find you need to rewrite the entire article. most of what was written is out-of-date, unreferenced, original research, and poorly written. Don't hesitate in getting rid of it
- anything remotely dubious, out-of-place will be discovered. remove it, clarify, or cite it. most of these sentences are usually added years ago or by IP users.
