4 medium sized meranguies (shop bought or home made)

280 ml Double Cream
4 medium-sized meringues<br>
50grams icing sugar
280ml ]<br>
10ml (1 tablespoon) vanilla essence
50g ]<br>
150ml greek yoghurt.
10ml (1 tbsp) ] essence<br>
150ml ]<br>
500g strawberries 500g strawberries

#Rinse the strawberries, remove the tops and cut into halves.
#Break the meringues into pieces (not too small) and place into a bowl.
#Put the double cream, vanilla essence and icing sugar into a bowl and whip until reasonably stiff.
#Combine the cream, yoghurt, strawberries and meringue, being careful not to mash the meringue into pieces that are too small.
#Serve in bowls.

Combine the cream, yoghurt, strawberrys and merangune, being careful not to mash the meranguine into too-small pieces.
Serve in bowls - possibly the easiest and nicest desert possible.

Eton mess is a strawberry, meringue and cream dessert traditionally served at the Eton College on 4 June. It can be made with many other types of summer fruit, but strawberries are traditional. A similar dessert is the traditional Lancing mess, served throughout the year at Lancing College.

Recipe

Ingredients

4 medium-sized meringues
280ml double cream
50g icing sugar
10ml (1 tbsp) vanilla essence
150ml Greek yoghurt
500g strawberries

Method

  1. Rinse the strawberries, remove the tops and cut into halves.
  2. Break the meringues into pieces (not too small) and place into a bowl.
  3. Put the double cream, vanilla essence and icing sugar into a bowl and whip until reasonably stiff.
  4. Combine the cream, yoghurt, strawberries and meringue, being careful not to mash the meringue into pieces that are too small.
  5. Serve in bowls.
