Interstate 29, a major north-south Interstate Highway in the Midwestern United States, begins in Missouri. It travels through the Kansas City and St. Joesph metropolitan areas before exiting the state and entering Iowa.
Route Description
Interstate 29 begins at Interstate 35 in Kansas City. It travels near Kansas City International Airport, then exits the Kansas City area. It enters the St. Joseph metropolitan area, but it is routed through the eastern suburbs, not downtown St. Joseph. After exiting St. Joseph, Interstate 29 travels through rural farm areas, then crosses into Fremont County, IA.
