Habibti/Habibati
The former (Habibti) is colloquial Arabic, while the latter (Habibati) is Modern Standard, I believe. There are various forms of colloquial, however, so it could be different depending on what modern colloquial language that's being referred to. In general, however, on Arabic pages in Misplaced Pages, the forms cited are Modern Standard (MSA). — ዮም | (Yom) | Talk • contribs • Ethiopia 06:25, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
It's an ingredient in a commercial mix I use, not sure what it's supposed to do exactly, which is part of why I started the stub (i.e., in the hopes of finding out). It's in a mix called "biostart plus", used for newly transplanted materials. --SB_Johnny||books 11:50, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Age of Consent
There isn't really a lot of information on this regard in Thai Misplaced Pages. There are no specific articles about Age of Consent and even law related articles are mostly stubs such as th:กฎหมายอาญา (criminal law). I will try to ask around and let you know if there are updates on this --Jutiphan 20:42, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm curious as to your recent revert; you mention it is a copyvio. But visiting that website, it seems to be Freely licensed and acceptable for inclusion. Greetings, I am trying to get an article written about a castle ruin in the Schwarzwald. There is a German Misplaced Pages article on Sausenburg, but my translation skills are very sub-par. Invariance of domain example
At invariance of domain, I believe it is you who added the example (t^2-1,t^3-1) as an example of an injective continuous non-homeomorphism. Can you explain this to me, it seems to be a homeomorphism onto its image as I see it. Thanks. MotherFunctor 00:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I like your nick. The function (t^2-1,t^3-1) is indeed a homeomorphism onto its image, but the function from the article, (t^2-1,t^3-t) for t>-1 is injective but not a homeomorphism. Cheers, AxelBoldt 05:49, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Of course! the old rap around line. I was too busy squinting at the poor autoformatting of the exponents, misread the t for a 1. Glad I asked, makes sense now, thanks. MotherFunctor 10:41, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

The group that carried out these armed robberies of bars, supermarkets and a weapons depot initially identified itself as the "Fighting Communist Cells" (CCC), supposedly acting in protest against NATO plans of deploying MGM-31 Pershing missiles in Europe. The attacks were carried out with almost military precision, leading to suspicions that this effort to destabilize the country came from disgruntled right-wing members of the Rijkswacht, a national military-style police force. The weapons used to carry out the murders were stolen from a police arsenal. The crimes were never solved.

- Yes, I wrote that and I stand by it. I'm aware of the fact that the CCC is left and the Rijkswacht is right. I wanted to express the fact that the group initially identified themselves as acting from the left, but then suspicions arose that they were actually acting from the right. TO AXEL BOLDT
Thank you for your very fast answer, sorry for my very slow respons.
It is true that I heard someone telling me that it could be (that was the opinion of that
person)the C.C.C. responsible for the factslike Braine l'Alleud,Overijse or Alost, but
I don't know who is truely responsible for those facts.
I don't know if,yes or not , the C.C.C. is left or right.
I don't know if the Rijkswacht ( belgian gendarmerie or Rijkswacht) is (or was) right or left.
Did you read the recent declarations of mister Robert Beijer about the body of mister Francis
Zwarts?
Are you still following just a bit the cases of what happened in Braine l'Alleud,Overijse or
Alost in 1985?
Miss Patricia Finné opened a few blogs about it.
Her father died ,killed with four other people(gunfired apparently), for so far she says,
and for so far I know,a friday twenty seventh of september,1985,around 20:30 P.M.,
on the parking of a DELHAIZE (from DELHAIZE LE LION),in Overijse ,Brabant,Belgium,Europe.

Invariant Basis Number question
Hi, I have a question regarding your article Invariant basis number: when you say "R is isomorphic to R" do you mean "as left-R modules" or "as right-R modules" or "as both left and right R-modules", or "as R-R bimodules", or does that not make a difference? Thanks and cheers, AxelBoldt 02:44, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Axel. Actually, the article already has a sentence addressing that question. It says:
- "If a ring has invariant basis number with respect to left R-modules, it also has IBN with respect to right R-modules. For this reason, the choice between left and right R-modules is left unspecified."
- But perhaps you think something should be mentioned of this earlier in the article? -lethe 18:05, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh yes, I didn't see that statement. It might be useful to clarify it earlier, right in or after the definition. So is my understanding correct, the three statements
- For all m and n, if R is isomorphic to R as left R-modules, then m=n.
- For all m and n, if R is isomorphic to R as right R-modules, then m=n.
- For all m and n, if R is isomorphic to R as left- or right-R modules, then m=n.
- are equivalent, and either can be taken as definition of IBN? I suppose the following two statements are weaker:
- For all m and n, if R is isomorphic to R as left- and right-R modules, then m=n.
- For all m and n, if R is isomorphic to R as R-R bimodules, then m=n.
AxelBoldt 21:33, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hm. Actually I expect all five statements to be equivalent?
- That's certainly possible, but it would need some theorem that I'm not aware of. All the examples I know of rings R with R isomorphic to R only work as one-sided modules, not as bimodules. But that isn't saying much. AxelBoldt 18:24, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- It seems to me that statement 4 follows from logical considerations alone (if a→c and b→c and a↔b, then a∪b→c (#3) and also a∩b→c (#4)). As for statement 5, I would expect the following to be a theorem of module theory: if M and N are isomorphic as left R-modules and isomorphic as right R-modules, then they are isomorphic as bimodules.
- Yes, if a ring satisfies #1 (and therefore #2), then it must satisfy #3 and #4, but the other direction is not clear to me. Unless we knew that for any ring R and all m and n the following is true: R is isomorphic to R as left module if and only if R is isomorphic to R as right module. I doubt that though.
- Regarding the bimodule isomorphism statement: I doubt that also. The left- and right-R isomorphisms could be different maps; for a bimodule isomorphism you need a single map that's linear both on the right and on the left. AxelBoldt 04:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- You say you're aware of rings which lack the IBN property for left modules but not for right modules? That would be a counterexample to the equivalence mentioned in the article, wouldn't it? -lethe 16:33, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe I'm confused. Do we have a reference for this material somewhere? AxelBoldt 04:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Anyway, I've made an edit to the article. Feel free to make further improvements. -lethe 03:48, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey Axel. OK, so about the alleged bimodule theorem, I think you're right. I gave it a try, and as you point out, the possibility of distinct left- and right- isomorphisms seems to kill that idea.
I haven't found a reference for you. I was working through Rotman's Homological algebra when I wrote this article, but unfortunately he breathes not one word about the issue of both modules. I think I had some supplementary sources, and I must have gotten it from one of them. I don't think I would have made that up. Let me take some more time. -lethe 23:32, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Why?
Hello AxelBoldt :-) Why are you pressing the point with a RFC? A good number of experienced users have looked at this issue and explained why the information is being removed. You need to understand that those of us that answer OTRS tickets are regular users that understand and fully support Misplaced Pages policy. We evaluate tickets and then decide if there is a valid request based on policy. We do not automatically remove information if that is the request. Your comment is s/w odd given the fact that the people answering the ticket have more information about the situation than other users. How will bringing in more people with less information help the situation? I ask you to reconsider prolonging the discussion as it causes more stress to the person and will eventually have the same outcome. FloNight 01:40, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think it's a matter of lacking information about the ticket; it's pretty clear and also understandable that the person wants their name removed. Instead it's a matter of policy: should individuals get veto power over including verifiable information about them (information that they have republished themselves!), even in the absence of any legitimate expectation of privacy? Several people, including you, have mentioned "policy" to me without ever pointing to the specific published rule that's being applied. I suspect that OTRS people have developed their own unpublished rules for dealing with these matters, and if so this is not a good thing, and needs to be discussed by the community at large. Cheers, AxelBoldt 02:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Whenever someone makes contact with Misplaced Pages about a concern related to a living person we fully evaluate the situation whether the issue is raised on a talk page, by OTRS ticket, or an email. Handling the situation is given a high priority if the person makes a valid request about the harm being caused by the inclusion of the information. That is exactly what happened here. Information about a living person is held to the highest standard. As always, content decisions are made for individual articles on individual articles. That is why discussion occurred on the talk page of the article. Including information about a non-notable person against their will needs to be fully supported by multiple non-trivial mentions to overcome the burden of harm that occurs from being mentioned on one of the largest web sites in the world. Several experienced editors disagree with your opinion that the content is well supported. We have explained why the content was removed. You do not have to agree with us, but I ask you to gracefully accept our interpretation of policy and let the subject drop. Take care, FloNight 02:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- "Including information about a non-notable person against their will needs to be fully supported by multiple non-trivial mentions" Finally we have a concrete policy statement. That should settle the matter. Where can I read up on that one?

- Also, do you think that the OTRS volunteer handling the issue was aware of the fact that the individual in question republished the Maxim article (which states his true identity as co-owner of the business) on his own website? I don't think you can complain about violations of your privacy if you have committed them yourself.
- Also please note that several experience editors disagree with the removal of the name. Cheers, AxelBoldt 03:14, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Mobius strip plagiarism issue
Hi. It's been noted that David Darling's encyclopedia entry for Mobius strip is remarkably similar to the Misplaced Pages entry, especially early versions of it, which you created. A couple people have staunchly risen to Darling's defense, basically accusing you of being a plagiarist. Please see Talk:David_Darling_(astronomer) for the discussion. My investigation into the matter has convinced me that Darling has plagiarized (rather heavily) here and I've laid out the evidence on the talk page, but I think it would still be worth hearing your comments on this issue. --C S (Talk) 15:53, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
