The IDF Spokesperson's Unit is a unit in the IDF Operations Directorate, responsible for information policy and media relations. The unit is lead by the IDF Spokesperson, a brigadier general and member of the General Staff, and by the deputy spokesperson, a colonel. The current Spokesperson is Brig. Gen. Miri Regev.

In June 2007 it was announced that Colonel Avi Bnayahu has been appointed to the position of IDF Spokesperson.

In August 2007 Colonel Benayahu promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and enter to the position as IDF Spokesperson.
