Alice Nine (アリス九號.) (typeset as alice nine.)is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2004. Originally signed to the PS Company label, a sub-division of Free-Will, now the band is signed to both PS Company and King Records. As of 2007, they have released one full-length record (Zekkeishoku), along with several EPs, singles and DVDs.
In September 2007, Free Will president, Hiroshi Tomioka, was arrested for defrauding advertising agency Asatsu-DK of 324 million yen (approximately US$3,000,000) the money was used to promote bands signed to his record label, along with the funding of tours, and the production of records, and music videos.
Band History
In August 2004 Alice Nine formed with the five members; Shou, Hiroto, Tora, Saga and Nao. Their first concert was held at the Ikebukuro Cyber on May 11, 2004 and they soon toured with label mates BIS. In November, they did a nation-wide tour with the band Karen from Under Code Productions..
After a series of releases on PS Company, Alice Nine released their major label debut Kasou Mushou Shi on King Records in 2005, and is currently signed to both labels. .
In 2006, Alice Nine had two songs, Akatsuki and Ikuoku no Chandelier, used for the opening and closing of the anime series Meine Liebe Wieder. Zekkeishoku debuted on the Oricon daily charts at #4, and they completed a fan only tour called "Kacho Fugetsu Vol. 1" in support of the album.
In 2007, they performed at J-Rock Revolution in Los Angeles, California, on May 25, 2007 along with several other Japanese bands. It was their first performance outside of Japan.
