- For the analogous administrators' page, see Misplaced Pages:Admins willing to make difficult blocks.
This page has been created in response to the increasing numbers of editors who are harassed or threatened, on-site, off-site, or in real life because of editorial actions they have taken on Misplaced Pages. The real-life harassment is usually possible because editors have inadvertently given out too much personal information about themselves, perhaps incrementally, without realizing that an unfriendly person would be able to synthesize the information, or because they felt they had no reason to preserve their anonymity when they first joined Misplaced Pages.
Misplaced Pages editors may be subject to the following types of abuse:
- being banned or blocked for their off-site activities
- being banned or blocked without due process
- being called a "troll"
- being contacted at home
- being contacted at work
- being harassed or intimidated by abusive administrators
- being falsely labeled a sockpuppet of a banned user
- cyberstalking
- having defamatory statements placed on user pages
- having defamatory statements placed on talk pages
- having defamatory statements placed in articles written about them
- having editors and administrators of Misplaced Pages pry into their real lives without consent or consultation
- having people make fun of their usernames
- having their employers contacted
- having their parents contacted
- having their personal data, including geographic location, IP address, and other affiliations, published on Misplaced Pages pages
- having their real names revealed without their express consent
- having their blog or website labeled an "attack site" and links to it suppressed
- invasion of privacy
- mocking
- offline stalking
- verbal humiliation
- verbal insults
- verbal threats of physical violence
- verbal threats to family and/or pets
- other negative consequences
Misplaced Pages does not provide enough warning about these risks to its editors. Knowledge of such harmful activities is contained on pages which are unlikely to be read by most editors.
The list below consists either of editors who are certain there is no information on Misplaced Pages that leads to their real-life IDs, or else who are willing to deal with the consequences that difficult edits can lead to.
Any editor who encounters an abusive editor or administrator or who is being harassed on account of previous editing transactions with such a person, or has a whole clique of them ganging up on them, can contact one of the editors on this list and request that they intervene in the situation.
Even if you are on the list yourself, you might still want to ask another editor to take over in a situation where you have been personally threatened and would feel safer if more than one editor was involved. Editors on the list should feel free to remove their names at any point without giving a reason.
Editors who are on this list and who like userboxes might like to add {{User difficultedits}} to their user page. This adds the user to Category:Misplaced Pages editors willing to make difficult edits and also the following userbox:
This user can, and will, make difficult edits if needed.

- James-SugronoContributions -- Not sure how useful this page is, as compared to the Misplaced Pages:Admins willing to make difficult blocks page. However, I'm ready for whatever consequences my edits may bring.
