"I'll have a martini, two at the most. Three, I'm under the table. Four, I'm under the host!"

— Dorothy Parker
The Swimming Hole (1884–85) by Thomas Eakins
The Swimming Hole (1884–85) by Thomas Eakins
The Swimming Hole (1884–85) is a painting by Thomas Eakins. It is perhaps the most famous work by Eakins and considered a masterpiece of American painting. In this work, Eakins took advantage of an exception to the generally prudish Victorian attitude to nudity: swimming naked was widely accepted, and for males was seen as normal, even in public spaces. Eakins was the first American artist to portray swimming in the nude. By the 1970s some American writers were beginning to see Eakins' work, and specifically The Swimming Hole, as having homoerotic overtones. However, Eakins' (homo-)sexuality has never been conclusively determined.
Everybody's journey is individual. If you fall in love with a boy, you fall in love with a boy. The fact that many Americans consider it a disease says more about them than it does about homosexuality.
James Baldwin

User:Allstarecho/Boxbottom

User:Allstarecho/Boxtop It all happened in January 1973 when my mom and dad got together for a little shag action! Nine months later - in October 1973 - I entered this world. My how things have changed. It used to snow here in Mississippi, back when I was a kid. Now we do well to get temperatures of 40 degrees in December.

Zoom ahead to today. Older (I'm 34 years old), gay and still in Mississippi. But happily of course, except still for that lack of snow. Even here in Mississippi, I am out of the closet and very active in Mississippi gay rights issues. I have children - 2 little furry ones, a cat named Nino (pronounced Nee-no) and a chocolate dachshund (yes, that's a wiener dog) named Hershey (rightfully so because he's long and brown reminding me of a Hershey's chocolate bar).

I love...

Because of the edits you made today, you've won yourself a permanent vacation from Misplaced Pages! Contributing to articles can be very stressful and time-consuming, and it's just too much for some people to handle. So I've set you free! Take a nap in a hammock, walk on the beach, fly a kite, or build a tree fort. If hang gliding or motorcycle racing is more your speed, you can do that, too! You can do whatever you like, as long as you're not editing Misplaced Pages. Hooray for you! Kafziel 00:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

File:Angry.gif I hate...

  • People who say "I’m not a racist/sexist/homophobe/etc." then go on to make a remark that proves they are one. We are all only human, we all have our prejudices, but those people who can’t even see their own really disgust me.
