Hi! welcome to Misplaced Pages!

Hope you enjoy contributing to Misplaced Pages. Be bold in editing pages. Here are some links that you might find useful:

Annie Lee Moss

Could you please comment on this point at the article's Talk page? If we can reach an agreement on this small edit, then the page can be unprotected and the bulk of your recent edits can be reinserted. Thanks. RedSpruce (talk) 13:33, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Please respond, if not on the article's talk page then here. If you don't disagree with my proposed edit, please say so. If you no longer care about this article, say that. If you disagree with my proposed edit, but don't want to or don't know how to say why, then at least just say that you disagree with it. It's not right for the article to stay protected indefinitely just because you have an aversion to discussing things. RedSpruce (talk) 19:54, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, while at least you're still capable of mindless, discussion-free edit warring. , I'm relieved to see that you're still your usual self. RedSpruce (talk) 17:10, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
I see I spoke too soon, at least about some of your mindless, discussion-free edit warring. RedSpruce (talk) 17:19, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the little GA icons here, I shrank them down for you. They were taking up nearly half the page. Hope you don't mind. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters20:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:NewarkHawks14d.gif)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:NewarkHawks14d.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. - AWeenieMan (talk) 23:28, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Olmec Writing

Thanks for doing that. Over at The Hall of Ma'at when we discussed this people provided these references (one a drawing), and I was wondering if you wanted to use them as well or instead of what you've done. I don't want to mess with your good work myself. They are: Doug --Doug Weller (talk) 07:47, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

NNT

On number needed to treat you added content on the high NNT for particular statins. I am aware that the Business Week article caused a bit of a stir, but it is still only a marginally useful source and your addition completely failed to distinguish between primary prevention and secondary prevention. I think there are very few people who doubt that statins are indicated in secondary prevention, and the main controversy is in primary prevention (especially in women). At any rate, if anywhere this content belongs on statin and not on the NNT page. JFW | T@lk 05:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I have responded to your message on Talk:Number needed to treat. In general, I would advise to discuss first and then reinsert a controversial contribution after consensus is reached. This is advocated by the BRD cycle. JFW | T@lk 15:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Per Help:Reverting, it is really poor form to use UNDO on a user without providing an edit summary, unless you are undoing obvious vandalism.
I completely disagree with your approach on the NNT page, and have made a request for comments on WT:MED. JFW | T@lk 16:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:8638926109279688594.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:8638926109279688594.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Misplaced Pages:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:17, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly 15:17, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

March and April 2008

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on NNT. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. I think you will like the ultimate outcome in this article, so I hope you'll be careful about this policy. Getting yourself blocked over an insistence on having your favorite BW quote in the article's footnotes today isn't going to help anything. WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:44, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

It is generally considered impolite to make accusations of bias. I left you this note because I didn't want you to get blocked. If wanting you to remain active on Misplaced Pages is a sign of "bias" against you, then I guess I don't know what support looks like.
Note please that it makes no difference at all why you reverted these changes. It may be the One True Quote™. That is totally irrelevant: three reversions (in whole or in part) within any 24 hour time period will get you blocked. A pattern that looks like it's leading there will also get you blocked.
Someone else is talking to one of the other editors involved in this dispute. I do not see any need for editors to gang up on him, just like I see no need for multiple editors to leave notes on your talk page

That is so painfully incorrect it hurts me. All images must have a source. A license tag cannot provide the source. If you got it from a website, provide the URL to the (HTML) page you got it from. Thanks for understanding. If you need help or don't understand why, please ask me or at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright help desk. MECUtalk 23:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
