Gordon Korman is a Canadian author of novels, primarily for children.
He is most famous for the Macdonald Hall series chronicling the amusing happenings at a fictional boys' boarding school near Toronto. He published his first book, This Can't be Happening at Macdonald Hall, when he was 13, resulting from a composition assignment at school. Despite the pain of injustice caused in cases where schoolwork prevents a child author from writing a book, not all authors would like to start under under a school English teacher's direction.
His early books are mostly humorous; in recent years he has also written adventure series and several popular books for young adults.
He currently lives in Long Island, New York.
