The Hattian were an Hatto-Iberian (or Proto-Iberian)) people who inhabited the land of Hatti in Asia Minor. They spoke a non-Indo-European (Iberian-Caucasian) language called Hattic. They eventually merged with the Hittites.
In Bible circles they have been connected with the Patriarch Arpachshad (ארפ-כשד) and subsequently the Chasidim or Chaldees (כשדים) of Genesis 11:28. They have also been connected to the Khaldi/Qardu, but it may be in little more than language and proximity.
