Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf جام مير محمد یوسف عالياني is the Jam of Lasbela and is the former Chief Minister of Balochistan province.
Mir Jam Mohammad Yousaf s/o Mir Jam Ghulam Qadir, was born in 1954 at Lasbela. He is the Ex Chief Minister of Balochistan. He has done MA, LLB in 1979. Previously he has held positions as MNA and MPA in the National and Balochistan Provincial Assembly. He is the Provincial President of PML (Q) since 2002. He has been elected as MPA from PB-44 Lasbella-I in General Elections 2002.
Lasbela is a political bastion of the Jams, ex-rulers of the former princely state of the same name. Jam Ghulam Qadir Khan, the Last ruler of the former state, had twice served as the chief minister of Balochistan. Mir Ghulam Qadir Jam’s son, Jam Mohammad Yousaf, a PMLQ leader, has also been the provincial chief minister. Jam Yousaf has also served as federal minister. Apart from one instance, the Jams have been consistently winning provincial assembly and federal parliament seats.
