CSD

Note that most of the CSD templates can be removed at will by anyone but the uploader, and if the would-be deleter objects they can be told to knock it off and take it to IfD, so the community can judge. For some of the more value-judgment-ish templates the uploader can do that as well. See eg discussion at Template_talk:Di-disputed_fair_use_rationale#Uploader_not_to_remove.

But rather than getting elbows out like that, I do believe it would be better if everybody just simply agreed to act civilised, leave the images in place as they would be in an IfD, and set up a neutral mechanism at WP:NFCR to come to a view. (ie something a bit more sophisticated than "whoever gets there first after 7 days gets to decide how they want to close it"). So on that score, you're probably right that it would be better for J.Milburn to agree to withdraw the CSDs pro tem, if possible, instead of simply doing it yourselves. Personally, I am not going to withdraw the images. However, I am happy to restore the images if it is determined that they are required. I also want to clarify that I do not want there to be any enemity between us- we may disagree very strongly about this, but I have agreed with your comments and edits elsewhere, on other issues. I don't think it is being asked to withdraw them completely...just for the duration of the discussion on WP:MCQ so nothing gets deleted while the discussion is on going. With it going as slowly as it is, I don't think, though, that will be a problem.

I also want to apologize, because I know I have been a little asshole (calling myself that) sometimes in this conversation and this type of conversation brings out the worst in me and I hate that. I am actually not that hard to get along with, honestly :). Which is why I am going to sit out the WP:MCQ discussion, so I don't upset anyone else (if I haven't already). I will be over working on radio station pages for WP:WPRS....much less stressful and no one to upset. Again, if I have upset you, I do apologize. J Milburn and image deletions

Hi, NH - got your message. I hate to disappoint, but my schedule has forced me to reevaluate what I can spend time on, and for the most part, Misplaced Pages is one of those things I've had to drastically cut back. I have never been a proponent of image galleries myself, but have vigorously defended them for altruistic reasons. I no longer have the energy or the desire to do that. I wish you well in your fight, but this may be a battle that the TV group is going to lose - there isn't even consensus among the group in favor of image galleries. You're right about the block duration. But I thought that before taking that step it'd be good to look them up on some Open Proxy lists or hand them over to the specialists. Also, with regard to Estrella TV, I've seen zero evidence that it launched on July 1, and all indications are that it's been delayed to August 15. I am referring to the deletion of the sister stations, external links, inaccurate changes ownership information, and much more that I've been working on for the last three hours. Did you ever consider a person who may or not be affiliated with the company might have more info than you??? I would guess not.
