Modern day Afghanistan did not exist in 1000's. This was part of Greater Iran and this territory was inhabited by the Iranian peoples, who Afghani's are a part of. Why does this article refer to him as Sunni/Afghani and not say a single word about Persian or Iranian. Persian poets Molawna, Sanai, and Jami were from this region as well but they are not considered "afghani's".
