Simon, I have blocked you for 24 hours since you've continued to make incorrect speedy taggings since I last warned you about it. Please, use this time to think about why so many of your taggings are declined so you can avoid similar once your block expires: if you go on the same way you'll only be wasting admins' time and annoying article authors, and are likely to be blocked for longer. I've opened a thread at ANI, ], about this block which contains more of my reasoning. ] (]) 16:54, 18 February 2010 (UTC) |

Tagging of Prolly
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Prolly. I do not think that Prolly fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because This doesn't look like vandalism to me, but merely an inappropriate page. i have tagged it with Prod instead. I request that you consider not re-tagging Prolly for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES 03:49, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Tagging of Jordyn Jackson
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Jordyn Jackson. I do not think that Jordyn Jackson fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because Having released multiple albums is a claim of significance, posibly not sufficient at AfD but enough to avoid an ] speedy. I request that you consider not re-tagging Jordyn Jackson for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES 03:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Tagging of Shiddukhin for speedy deletion
In this edit you tagged Shiddukhin for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A1. But A1 specifically says "This applies only to very short articles." and the page was at that time 7,303 bytes long. It also said "This article incorporates text from the 1901–1906 Jewish Encyclopedia article 'marriage'" which seems to give plenty of context to me. Particularly for an article created less than 2 minutes earlier, this seems in incorrect use of this speedy deletion tag. Please be more careful in future. DES 04:08, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, the Misplaced Pages community has decided that annoying people by incorrectly accusing them of spamming is a big deal. Since you clearly have no intention of fixing your behaviour, I will block you the next time you issue an obviously inappropriate CSD tag. Your call. Olaf Davis (talk) 13:49, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the "annoying" link - I discovered the Incubator (2.5) which seems quite a useful alternative to CSDing the borderline cases. Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 13:53, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Do note that the procedure for incubation (at WP:AI) says, among other things "As a rule, do not incubate an article unless you intend to improve it or you reasonably expect that it will be improved by other editors.". So I trust that if you incubate an article (which can indeed be a good alternative to speedy or prod for articles with potential that are not yet fit for the main space) you will devote some effort to improving or fixing it. J-Ethinomics
Hello, you either prodded or endorsed prod on J-Ethinomics. The article creator left a note on the article talk page indicating that deletion is not uncontroversial. Therefore, I have opened an AfD discussion at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/J-Ethinomics. Please opine at that discussion. Thanks! —KuyaBriBri 17:14, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
PROD removed from Japan Nation Party
I have removed the dated prod tag you placed on Japan Nation Party. That page was proposed for deletion in 2009 and prod was contested at that time. You may nominate the page for deletion via AfD, but prod is only for uncontroversial deletions and therefore cannot be added to the same page twice. Cnilep (talk) 20:02, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Carey Marx
Hello Simon-in-sagamihara, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Carey Marx - a page you tagged - because: Indicates significance, enough to pass A7, but needs third party-reliable references. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. decltype (talk) 14:27, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Stephen Carlin
Hello Simon-in-sagamihara. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Stephen Carlin, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: popular on the UK comedy scene is an assertion of importance. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 15:45, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
