: Your welcome of course. Quite a collection of sockpuppets for this guy tough, with a lot of ] and dedicated server hosts among them. I wonder if we should just block those hosting companies from accessing Misplaced Pages altogether - either their servers act akin to open proxies where everyone can connect, or they act similar to closed proxies where someone can hide his IP address. To be honest i see little legal reasons as to why someone should connect to an external server in order to access Misplaced Pages. ]</font> (],]) 23:37, 15 July 2010 (UTC) : Your welcome of course. Katie McGee

You recently deleted the article on Katie Mcgee. I was not the author but believe this article did represent a notable person worthy of an article. I did add a valid reference to this article before it was deleted. Could you please arrange for this article to be be to be forwarded to me for re-instatement. Why did you delete the Ceremony (Band) section?

Why did you delete the Ceremony (Band) section? http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Ceremony_(punk_band)&action=edit&redlink=1

They are one of the most important modern hardcore punk bands today and just released an album getting critical acclaim. See here: http://www.punknews.org/review/9437

You stated that they lack importance. they have released three full length albums, including releases on Bridge 9 records, one of the largest punk labels today. What does a band have to do to prove significance, be the Beatles?

You need to re-instate the article.Jjg264 (talk) 23:59, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Here are sources that show Ceremony is significant:

http://www.punknews.org/review/9437

http://stuckinthecity.wordpress.com/2008/06/09/an-interview-with-ceremony/

http://www.pinpointmusic.com/ceremony-rohnert-park-lp/

http://www.punknews.org/review/7599

I suggest that you lighten up on your significance criteria. Not every band has to be the Beatles or be featured on MTV to be of import.

I'm not questioning Misplaced Pages's criteria, I'm questioning your application of it. But whatever, if you want to power trip, then go ahead and power trip.

a question on notability/non-encyclopedic

Question on deletion of Third Temple addition...

I am new to editing on wikipedia. I recently attempted to make an addition to[REDACTED] articles related to the Jewish Temples in Jerusalem. My addition simply included an external link to another website featuring information on the historic location of the Temple. Admittedly, the external website is not itself notable or well-known. However, the material in the articles is concerned with providing first-hand references to historical sources and quotations of modern scholars involved in this feild so that readers interested in this subject may be thoroughly informed. The articles (at the external links that I attempted to post) include references to other notable, encyclopedic, and academic sources that do meet[REDACTED] standards and which appear regularly in[REDACTED] articles. So, I am confused as to why my additions were deleted. If there is anything I can do to alter my additions to these[REDACTED] articles, please let me know. If not, I thank you anyway for your time and effort.

Sincerely, Xamot 7:34pm, July 10, 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xamot (talkcontribs) 00:35, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

DZAC-TV

Actually, if you look at the edit history of both articles, the other wiki isn't a Misplaced Pages mirror in this case; the article there was created well before the article here, and the article here has been previously deleted as being a copyvio several times. The user creating these articles (I tagged several others for the same reason) appears to be a sockpuppet of User:Boboy9, who created the first series of these copyvios and was blocked for it. Hello! I had been talking with the editor who originally placed the speedy tag, wondering if that article (now deleted) in fact met CSD since it did list one verifiable source. Does the presence of a single, verifiable source warrant PROD instead of speedy? If so, that article may have been wrongly speedied. Just wondering; thanks for your time. :) Pianotech 11:42, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Mediation: Israel and the Apartheid analogy

Just an FYI, we are running a straw poll on title choices on the mediation page - see Misplaced Pages:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2010-04-14/Israel_and_the_apartheid_analogy#Straw_poll_on_titles. If you pitch in a vote or three, we can move this along. --Ludwigs2 06:02, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Feminist views on pornography

I am proposing an edit to the article and discussing it beforehand as is proper with a controversial subject. I am not using Wiki as forum. I do hope you won't remove my contribution again.

You are welcome

Hello Malik Shabazz. Just wanted to say you are welcome. Several articles and users have been under siege by a roving IP POV warrior. I would say that if it keeps up that you should feel free to put in a request at WP:RFPP. Talk pages and articles attacked by the IP's are being protected as I type and you shouldn't have to put up with it either. Cheers and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 01:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Thursby Software

What constitutes notability in a company?

Thursby Software has been around for 25 profitable years, with 50,000 customers and over 1,000,000 licenses sold around the world for a who's who of client.

Its products have been near ubiquitous in the Mac community for that time.

In that same time period IBM and Apple went through near death experiences and many of Thursby's one-time partners, once huge IT companies no longer exist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.7.44.34 (talk) 16:59, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

In order to qualify for an encyclopedia article, a company must be "notable". Please read WP:COMPANY, the relevant notability guideline. Thursby Software Systems didn't indicate why the company was notable. Here is the article in its entirety:
Thursby Software Systems (TSS), based in Arlington, Texas, produces Mac-Windows connectivity products. The company has over 50,000 Mac-Windows clients and has sold over a million licenses since its founding in 1986
If Thursby Software Systems satisfies the notability criteria, please write a new article about the company. Be sure to indicate why the company is notable, and include reliable sources so readers (including other editors) can verify the facts in the article. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 17:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
