Mundilfari topic ban

Following discussion at WP:ANI you imposed a topic ban on User:Mundilfari. This edit was an unambiguous breach of the ban. I have reverted that edit and warned the user. I have also reset the time limit before the user can apply for a review of the ban, in accordance with the policy on evasion of bans. My relevant edits are and here. I think the issue is that the closure did not consider any penalty when it was logged on Editing Restrictions. Didn't every user who contributed favour a bock for infringement? This editor is trying the community's boundaries and patience. His actions are clearly vandalism after a final warning, too. And the 3 RR block was never actually put back. I have reverted my actions described above, and imposed a one week block. I regard this as minimal, considering that the editor has made it clear they have no intention of co-operating. Thanks for keeping me in the loop on this topic. Since the user in question couldn't manage to live within the restrictions for more than a couple of days, I'm not expecting this to end in anything except an indefinite block, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. I feel a little guilty to have been sufficiently inexperienced not to add explicit penalties. I note that the user seems to be aware of our "kangaroo courts" so I figure he must have a fairly good idea of our processes; I don't think a block will have come as a complete surprise. If there is anything you want me to do, including leaving the user a note explaining that these blocks escalate, I'd be happy to do that. Accounting4Taste:talk 12:42, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

I think from your edit I have grasped the basic principle of the wording having to match, which I hadn't realized but which makes perfect sense from the point of view of the individual whose privileges are being restricted. I think that is now perfect. We now have something that cannot be challenged except by a review being asked for, or by any of the other arcane WP processes which no-one understands. Since I'm not an admin I chose not to touch that page, though I did correct a typo there just now. Responsibility without power suits me far better!

Accounting4Taste is currently feeling discouraged about Misplaced Pages and is taking an off-and-on wikibreak due to loss of motivation. Your help in cheering this user up would be appreciated. They will return when their wikistress has dissipated and their confidence in the wikicommunity has been restored.

Been thinking. Do something silly. Create an article on something real, but off the wall, and see how long it takes idiots to try to delete it.

And remember that this community doesn't really exist. The only part that's real is the part you inhabit. No-one and nothing here is actually important, relevant to real life, or, often, interesting. However, I think he is notable now that he has won the nomination and the losing candidate, Jane Norton, has an article herself. So, please unprotect the page and allow us to start editing. I disagree with your contention, since my understanding is that Mr. Buck has not yet met any of the requirements of WP:POLITICIAN, and have consulted the administrator who unprotected the page for his comments. Accounting4Taste:talk 18:16, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
