What is inaccurate about the fact that the IRA is a terrorist organisation and consequently anyone who acts on their behalf is a terrorist? The IRA is a terrorist organisation contrary to the provisions of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended in Ireland.

==RE: the IRA and drugs==
Listen I think the section should be reverted to it's original form or it should included a counterpoint to the statement. The RUC source implies that the IRA were involved with drugs while the Gardai, Tim Pat Coogan and Jack Holland maintain that there was no involvement. Even the Taylor Report highlights the actions taken by the IRA against drug dealers amongst their own ranks and outside. Also the Jack Holland statement is credible if you look at the statistics of drug usage in Belfast compared to Dublin in the 80's. Many people involved with the PIRA and Sinn Fein were involved in local campaigns against drugs. The issue is really disputed and the section should state that the charge is really disputed. For the sake of neutrality and balance the source from the RUC should be included and an opposing viewpoint

OK, I have to ask...

What's Innaccurate?

October 2010

Welcome to Misplaced Pages, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Misplaced Pages is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Mountjoy Prison helicopter escape appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. O Fenian (talk) 12:12, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Your recent edit to the page Mountjoy Prison helicopter escape appears to have added incorrect information and has been reverted or removed. All information in this encyclopedia must be verifiable in a reliable, published source. If you believe the information that you added was correct, please cite the references or sources or before making the changes, discuss them on the article's talk page. Please use the sandbox for any tests that you wish to make. Do take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thank you. O Fenian (talk) 12:16, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

You state that I you have reverted my edit of the article because it is 'inaccurate'. What is inaccurate about the fact that the IRA is a terrorist organisation and consequently anyone who acts on their behalf is a terrorist? The IRA is a terrorist organisation contrary to the provisions of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended in Ireland.

Also internment has not existed in Ireland since the period of the Emergency, known to the rest of teh world as World War 2. Then it was limited to a strict set of criteria and was subject to reviwe by the courts. No internee was still in custody in the 1970s nor were any held at Mountjoy Prison.

It's a pity that as a moderator on this site you don't do a bit of research before reverting alleged inaccuracies.
