== Civility warning ==

You've seen the AN/I thread, so you know what this is regarding. Please stay ]. I know how annoying it can be when trying to save articles at AfD, particularly with multiple nominations, but this is no excuse for cursing and attacking another editor. Stay calm. ]&] 22:06, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
:I haven't looked at the ANI thread, but I saw the warning. I'll try to control myself. Thanks, F&W. ] (]) 22:09, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

'']'' looks like a pretty good article, so kudos for that. Despite my favoring the deletion of many of your stubs, I'm not against all such articles and I am genuinely interested in these films and own some myself.

However, your edit summary in which you dedicate ''Rape! 13th Hour'' - an article about a violent film involving serial rape, gang rape, and male rape - to ], ], and ] strikes me as truly astonishingly bad form, whether one wants to call that incivil, rude, baiting, taunting, harassment, or what have you. CIVIL even notes "''Be careful with edit summaries'' (emphasis in original) and "avoid personal comments about any editors you have disputes with" in edit summaries. I really hope no one close to those users is an actual rape victim, as that would make your dedication even that much more tasteless to them. That's trying to control yourself? ] (]) 18:08, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
:Thanks for the compliment, Шизомби. I'm opposed to murder, torture, terrorism, cruelty to animals, and all other manner of atrocities that are used for entertainment purposes in films. But there is a clear difference between reality and fantasy-- which films are. Frankly, I don't find rape amusing even as a subject for film, and I find films like this repulsive. But these films are notable and deserve their articles. I am even less interested in the subjects some of the substubs created by a fellow Delete-voter at these AfDs, but I do not attempt to delete that work. Had I retaliated by doing that, I believe accusations that I have been "incivil, rude, baiting, taunting, harassment" might be appropriate. Writing an article which attempts to fully address the concerns in the AfDs is not disruptive. Since the concerns at the AfDs were over GNG and sourcing, that is what the dedication referred to. Even this genre film, which even without, apparently, having been noted with an award (except for inclusion on the list of 200 best Japanese films of the century), after few decades, has accumulated sourcing-- even in English. The other stubs no doubt will also. Regards. ] (]) 18:32, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
::"Writing an article which attempts to fully address the concerns in the AfDs is not disruptive." Correct, that's not what concerns me at all as I'd be happy to see more articles of similar quality; it's only the edit summary that's an issue. Dedicating articles to users you've had issues with is not a good idea, whatever the reason given, whatever the choice of article, but in this case was particularly problematic and I'm now also troubled you don't see that to be the case. You could have written an edit summary noting it was complying with the GNG and sourcing without the dedication and that would have been fine. I'd be surprised if HW in particular doesn't bring it up at AN/I, given his propensity to do so as well as his strong anti-porn orientation, and I think he'd be perfectly right to do so in this case. Fair warning. No need to reply. ] (]) 19:00, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
:::OK, I won't reply, except to say I won't reply. And to say: I believe that what goes on the mainspace is what should matter. What goes on behind the scenes, all the talk, all the AN/I games of grab-ass, and ''especially'' all the deltion of sourced content is at best a waste of time and space, and often, unfortunately, extremely detrimental to getting good content on the mainspace. The WP-careers, and the behavior of several editors at these AfDs has left me bitter enough that I'm unlikely to make much more contribution of content at least for a while. ] (]) 19:10, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
:::One more non-reply, in case anyone is non-reading here. About a film like this: Yes, I found reading and writing about it repulsive. I also find '']'' and Kubrick's '']'' repulsive. The ability to offend, as far as I am aware, is not an automatic invalidation of artistic merit. People were repulsed and offended all over the place when '']'' debuted... I suspect the term "pornography" is no more to the Japanese films than it is to the U.S. ones. In fact I read that Tarantino took Hasebe's (the director of ''Rape! 13th Hour'') '']'' as the inspiration for ''Natural Born Killers''. I suspect also-- with ''Swan Lake'' played to accompany a rape (Kubrick uses what? Beethoven & Rossini?), that Kubrick may have been some influence on Hasebe. So are editors who work on ''Clockwork Orange'' labeled "wankers" and members of the "wanking community"? I'd go so far as to say anyone who thinks this kind of thing is "wanking material" has the problem. Not the people who made it, with some point in mind, or the people who see it for at least a harmless cheap thrill, and maybe for something a bit more substantial to think about. It's also worth thinking about: Why are the U.S. films considered "serious", while the Japanese ones with similar style, similar explorations of sexual violence automatically considered "pornographic"? I think there may be some cultural bias in this too... ] (]) 23:28, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

== AfDs ==

Hi, well partial congratulations anyway. I guess we'll have to wait to see about the rest. I agree with you about the sometimes very evident bias of some editors and for at least a few it seems to be a personal bias as well. I think the best we can do is to try to give as little opportunity for the deletionists to get an opening. Unfortunately, I think once you got away from films where you could give something like Sharp or the Weissners as a source, they were liable to swoop in. I've been slowly going through the X City fixes and have been trying to eliminate or shore up a few things that also might be attacked as dubious. And speaking of fixes, it definitely is a conspiracy as far as our sources go. The Urabon Navigator site has moved from jans-web.com to urabon-navigator.com. This one is a lot better than the X City change - it looks like only the server name has changed, not the individual pages. A bot should be able to take care of this. Are you familiar with the procedure for requesting one? Good luck on the rest of the AfDs. ] (]) 05:44, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

== Greetings ==

Hi I haven't been around lately due to a combination of things I needed to get done around the house, social obligations and a couple of days of not feeling well. Looks like things haven't changed much, I'll probably just sit out things for a while longer, I'm not really in the mood for confrontations and such. Just a note to let you know I'm still here - assuming you are. :) ] (]) 21:33, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
:Hi. Yeah, I think I've got sick of the nonsense and ugliness here as well. I'll probably do some editing in the folk dance area but contributing to AV articles seems a waste right now. I've done some IMDB editing in the past, I should look around and see if I can find my old password. I'll also check out eiga wiki some more, I just glanced at it and it looks promising. Recently, I've gone back to another old hobby playing with baseball statistics at a forum where people actually thank you for your contributions! Probably see you around at some site. ] (]) 00:14, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi: My condolences, although ''Nude Nuns with Big Guns'' does have its attractions :). Good to hear from you again, I've been following your work at the Eiga Wiki - good stuff. I'll probably eventually get over there to add some of the AV actresses. After some inactivity at Misplaced Pages, I've been working on cleaning up the Urabon Navigator & XCity bad links and a few other things (have to keep up our legacy!). At least it seems to be quiet in Wikipedialand for a while. ] (]) 19:46, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
