Welcome!

Hello Jgera5, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Editing on Wal-Mart page

Hi Jgera5,

I appreciate your editing of the Wal-Mart page, but your additions should be sourced. There are a lot of people looking at this page and editing it. We are trying to keep it high quality. --Andrew Eisenberg 05:56, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Super Bowl

I have reverted your recent edit to Super Bowl. Please cite a source that confirms that the Steelers have elected to wear their white jerseys during Super Bowl XL. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 17:39, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Super Bowl XIII

A suggestion: you might want to elaborate on why the Greene Coke ad was "infamous" instead of "famous" or someone might revert it again. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 06:03, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Starbucks Australia

Hi. Just to say thanks for doing the Starbucks merge and redirect. It's been on my "To Do" list for a while and I still hadn't got around to it. Cheers. —Whouk (talk) 09:08, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Request for edit summmary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 1% for major edits and 67% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 3 minor edits outside the Misplaced Pages, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:06, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Your addidtion to Amoco

  • You stated here that BP was oringially intending to convert all BP locations in the United States to Amoco and all Amoco locations overseas to BP. I have seen this at other places, but a few months ago I asked BP officials if this was correct and I was told that this was never the plan. I just thought that I would find out where you heard it. I found it at the Standard Oil history at www.us-highways.com. Station Attendant 02:27, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Pontiac edits

I have removed the edits that you made today regarding the possible phasing out of Pontiac based on a comment by Bob Lutz stating that it and Buick are damaged goods. The problem with the passage is that it is based on speculation, not fact, and it doesn't meet Verifiability standards as speculation. I think that the talk page may be a better place for the passage. Now if you can provide hard and fast information that can be verified that this option is a real possibility, then feel free to add it and attribute the source. Stude62 21:18, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Brusters.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Brusters.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see User talk:Carnildo/images. 11:39, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the source for Image:Brusters.jpg, however you also need to add a copyright tag to the image. Please read Misplaced Pages:Copyright and Misplaced Pages:Fair use and select an apropriate license tag template for it if it meet our criterea for use. --Sherool (talk) 09:43, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for experimenting with Misplaced Pages. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed by an automated bot. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Redirects

Just so you know, when you want to redirect a page (when you want something to a "see such and such") instead of keeping two articles the syntax #REDIRECT ] is the accepted syntax. You got the bot auto warning because the redirect didn't match the pattern, I know its good faith and I've fixed it for you. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a message :) -- Tawker 07:51, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Station calls and article moves

Pleas do not move articles on radio or tv stations until their change of call sign become official. Though the station announced that it will change it call on March 22, the change does not become official until April 3, and until then the station will still be identified as WNPA. Also when you need to move an article to a new title, do not cut and paste the article to its new name. See WP:MOVE on how to move articles. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 06:38, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Image:Future I-376 Corridor.jpg

I'm just having a look at your Image:Future I-376 Corridor.jpg. Do you have a higher-resolution version by any chance? I just tried to touch up the image a bit, and while I can do a lot with the color/contrast issues, there just doesn't seem to be enough resolution to make the sign itself more than barely legible. But if you have an original with more pixels, I'd be happy to poke at it a little bit.  — JVinocur (talk • contribs) 05:09, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

KDKA-TV / WGRZ

Im sorry but I personally think what you did was ridiculous regarding the KDKA user box I edited. Exactly what makes KDKA so special it gets to be a on the user box page and featured? Im guessing because YOU put it there? huh?

Paul Ruebens

Pre your message. Not only have I seen it many times, but have it on DvD. Paul Ruebens' apperance in the movie, while the character had several recognizable simularities, it was definitly not the same or was even ever noted as being "Pee-Wee Herman"Rsm99833 03:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Mellon Arena

Do not post rumored info ike you did by adding Armageddon. It was only made official TODAY that Armageddon 2007 will be held in the Mellon Arena. TJ Spyke 00:14, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Was it just made official today? Cuz I've seen links to it before, and I even had a link as a source before. It wasn't a rumor. And in all actuality, I thought they changed it. Aw well. Jgera5 07:29, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Future I-376 Corridor.jpg

Hi. When you uploaded Image:Future I-376 Corridor.jpg, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with {{GFDL-presumed}} and, for some time, it has existed on Misplaced Pages under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted.

This image has been tagged for deletion and will be deleted in one week if adequate copyright information is not provided.

If you, personally, are the author of this content, meaning that you took the photograph yourself or you created the chart yourself (and it does not use any clipart that you did not create), please retag the image with a free image copyright tag that correctly describes your licensing intentions, usually {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}}. Please also make sure if you have not already done so that you write a good description of what the image depicts, when you took the photo, and other important details. This will allow Misplaced Pages to continue using the image.

If you did not create the image or if it is derived from the copyrighted works of others, please keep in mind that most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not suitable for use on Misplaced Pages. Misplaced Pages respects the copyrights of others and does not use images unless we know that they have been freely licensed. Any creative work is automatically copyrighted, even if it lacks a copyright notice. Unless the copyright holder has specifically disclaimed their rights to the image and released it under the GFDL or another compatible license, we cannot use it. If you did not create the image, and cannot make the image compliant with Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, simply do nothing and it will be deleted in a week. All other non-free images must follow these rules.

Please feel free to contact me on my talk page or leave a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions with any questions you may have. Thank you. Aksibot 22:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Bruno Sammartino

I apologize, it was not my intent to vandalize the page. What happened was I went back in the history to find the signature moves list that had been removed by vandals and I copied and pasted it. But apparently, I accidentally set it to edit the page from where I retrieved it from, re-adding all the vandalism that had been removed. Again, I'm sorry, I was trying to help but made a mistake. Rogers, Ohio correct information

Jgera5, Please get the correct information before posting it on a website. Your info about local flea market and auction in Rogers, Ohio closing is totally false. CBS Mandate

Since you started the CBS Mandate article, I'm wondering if you have any sources to substantiate the claims made in it. As noted on the talk page, there are some serious problems with the article as it now stands. Pairadox 01:56, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

(originally posted on User talk:Pairadox) You know what? It's been like well over a year since I've even been to that page, as I don't recall since the last time I've been over there. I forgot it even existed.

I've since improved on my Wiki skills. The page could be deleted as unnecessary or something.

Sorry to cause any confusuion.Jgera5 02:01, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

No confusion and no problem. Everybody improves with experience (well, most ;). I'm just not sure what to do with it; it's pretty well integrated into many other articles (Special:Whatlinkshere/CBS_Mandate) and it's already been through an AfD (Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/CBS_Mandate). I have no doubt that it is a part of the CBS branding, it's just that it really needs some source to bring it up to Verifiablity standards. Of course, with the prevalance of branding, there is the question of how notable this is... Pairadox 04:38, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Logo white bg.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Logo white bg.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alx 91 00:26, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to the US Banks template

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I temporarily reverted your edit to {{US Banks}}. In an attempt to keep this template focused, and to prevent editors from adding their favourite banks to the list again, the template is directly sourced to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council's report on the Top 50 bank holding companies. As the current report (dated 30 June 2007) still has Sky in the #46 position, I re-added Sky to the template. Once the FFIEC generates its next report (early October?), we can update the template with all the applicable changes. Please let me know if you have any questions or issues. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 03:17, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

The FFIEC issued their updated third-quarter list, and the {{US Banks}} template has been updated. Thanks for your help! --Kralizec! (talk) 00:20, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I noticed your little edit war. Please stop. The general consensus here is that the timelines will not extend past 2008 at this point. New Castle High School

Hello jgera5! I wanted to let you know that I reverted your change to the List of high schools in Pennsylvania page in which New Castle High School was redlinked. The only reason I did is because the other schools without a[REDACTED] page haven't been redlinked either. I have been torn on this for a few weeks now. Do you think we should just redlink the remaining schools or let them remain unlinked althogether? It doesn't make sense to only redlink a few schools here and there, am I right? I'd love to hear your feedback.Bmstephany 16:24, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

New Castle

Thanks for the note. I completely agree with you concerning the list of high schools in PA. Many other list have all the schools linked (either directly to[REDACTED] articles or redlinked). If I get time I will go through and redlink the rest of the schools, or you can do so if you get time. Also, good call on the clean up of the New Castle, Pennsylvania page. Some people totally abuse the use of "notability." Peace!Bmstephany 14:53, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Vocelli Pizza

A tag has been placed on Vocelli Pizza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Avruch 23:51, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Just FYI, I added a {{hangon}} tag to this article and placed an entry on its talk page. Cheers. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 23:57, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

November 2007

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please familiarize yourself with Misplaced Pages policies and try to ensure that your edits and article creation work complies with the applicable policies. I notice that you have many, many complaints and non-template warnings on your talk page. This should put you on notice that your edit pattern is not constructive in the view of the community. AfD nomination of Vocelli Pizza

Vocelli Pizza, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Vocelli Pizza satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and the Misplaced Pages deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Vocelli Pizza and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Vocelli Pizza during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Avruch 00:10, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Currently, it looks as though the AfD will result in keeping the article. I agreed that the article met WP:notability and originally placed the {{hangon}} tag. IMHO, it was a good contribution.
However, in the near future, you may want to re-visit WP:civility in relation to your comments here and here. It is best to stick with the facts concerning the article. Personal attacks and statements to the effect of "I'm more experienced at Misplaced Pages than you," should be avoided. All discussions should be kept on the article's talk page or the AfD entry. Cheers. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 17:12, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I wanted to thank you for your additions to the pages that I have created on the Steelers' seasons. I've taken some of your additions and applied them to all of the pages.

Re:NFL Rivalries

Believe me I agree 100% with you. However I have talked with an administrator and they told me the logos cannot be used on the Rivalry pages. I mean what else can we possibly use as picture on the pages? I'll talk to the admin again and try and figure something out. I'm going to revert back to no logos just until I can't get more understanding from the administrator. Edit2: Actually I'll just wait for your respone before I do. HoosierState 05:31, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Once again I agree, I talked with Pats1 earlier after I added the logos back to Colts-Patriots rivalry and they reverted it back. I asked if this page's logos have to be removed then why not the rest. They told me they all should be removed but they kept getting re-added by users. If you want you could talk to Pats and see where you get because I don't really want to keep bugging them. Let me know how it goes ;) HoosierState 05:41, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Hyundai timeline

At the same time, you can't guarantee that Hyundai won't spring upon us a sudden, unexpected redesign. It does not exist currently in any form or another, therefore we cannot claim it does. People have used blogs and rumors to extend lines on other timelines (such as the Lexus timeline) and have been proven wrong (for instance, the RX was not redesigned for MY09, contrary to speculations). At the same time, there are people in WP:Auto that feel the timelines should be by CY and not MY, further invalidating your extension of lines. Butterfly0fdoom (talk) 20:05, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

The Dark Knight

Hello and thank you for adding an image of Two-Face to The Dark Knight (film). (I also noticed that you placed it in the relevant spot!) However, I'm removing it for the time being since Two-Face was purposely not marketed for the film, and I think it is too easy to come across the image and be spoiled by it (as opposed to plot details in the Plot section). I've started discussion and invite you to weigh in so we can see about building consensus and figuring out the best way to go about this. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 19:49, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for pitching in. We'll see how other editors feel. I want to make the point, though, that I do not mind the eventual inclusion of the image. Just consider that The Dark Knight has not come out in the UK and other territories, so such a clear image of Two-Face may upset some. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:11, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
I thought Eckhart did a great job, too. His role wasn't really advertised, so it was a nice surprise to see such a developed character. I was expecting a pretty bad disfigurement, but when I saw Two-Face, I felt briefly sick to my stomach. Jones's role was wayyy too campy. :) I hope we don't go back to the Schumacher universe ever again. What do you think should be in the third Nolan film, if there is one? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:20, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
I also think that Catwoman should make an appearance because the next film needs a new female role. I'm not so sure about The Riddler, though... I've noticed a lot of fans debating the casting choices, but they have to remember the thematic arc of Nolan's films. Like you said, we don't want to repeat the Joker's chaos, but how do we top that? The situation in Gotham City was as serious as it could get, you know? I'm not sure about the Joker being re-cast... unlike with Rachel Dawes, it would be such a visible difference. Ledger's really set the bar, especially with all the awards talk going on. I'm not completely opposed to the idea of Robin, but definitely ditch the costume and take the Nightwing approach. I think that there is a potential father-son relationship that could be built up, but it would have to be done really well. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:37, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:FoxOhioValley.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:FoxOhioValley.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Move of MY-YTV to WYTV-DT2

I was disappointed to see your move of MY-YTV to WYTV-DT2 for two reasons. First, it was without discussion or any type of rationale. I am okay with the move but nowhere on either article's talk page did you discuss your reasoning. Second, you simply did a 'copy and paste' move. If you look at the tabs at the top of articles, you will see a "Move" tab, which is the proper way to move an article and its talk page. It allows for the article history to be preserved, which in this case it wasn't. As it sits, the Talk:MY-YTV remains where it is with several Wikiprojects tagging it and an image use notice. Those items should have been moved. If you are unclear on moving pages, I invite you to read Help:Moving a page. Please let me know if you have any questions. --Daysleeper47 (talk) 14:20, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you have been warned by User:Boothy443 two years ago about this issue. I would hope you would have learned. --Daysleeper47 (talk) 15:04, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Re:CBS Radio Template.

Hi. I'm glad you asked that question. Well, since I got the news from Radio-Info.com about this, I was wondering which clusters are gonna be sold. And since CBS Radio won't tell, I went down the list and marked the stations by Arbitron market size. Knowing that the major market stations are 1 to 20, they are left alone. The rest of the clusters from #21 on are targeted for the pending sale(s). The only other reliable source I can give you is this one from the Los Angeles Times, but I do know that KRAK in Hesperia, California (listed as #120 by Abitron and despite being under ownership of CBS is airing programming from ABC Radio ) is definitely one of the ones up for sale.

What I don't understand is that why would KDKA (AM) be up for sale when it has sister TV station KDKA-TV? If the divestion goes through both KDKA-AM and KDKA-TV would have to maintain a partnership, unless the potential new owners changes its callsign and format.

If I happen to find anymore reliable sources, you'll be one of the first to know. Have a nice evening. Mbrstooge (talk) 02:52, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

WTAP-DT2/WTAP-DT3

Hello, I have noticed a couple of your edits adding WikiLinks for WTAP-DT2 and WTAP-DT3. As it stands right now, both of these pages are redlinks. Did you have plans of making pages for these two stations? If not, then I will knock out the redlinks. If you are, (great!) I will leave them be. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. Orphaned non-free media (Image:AFCN-Uniform-PIT.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:AFCN-Uniform-PIT.PNG.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:FoxYoungstown.jpg}

Thank you for uploading Image:FoxYoungstown.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Minor edits

You mark almost all of your edits as minor, and most of them are not minor edits. Adding or deleting sentences, sources, categories, or entire sections of an article are not minor edits. Please mark edits as minor only if they genuinely are minor edits (see Misplaced Pages:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered rude. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Please click "My preferences" at the top of the page, click the "Editing" tab, and uncheck "Mark all edits minor by default". Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 22:48, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

DYK nomination for Logos and uniforms of the Pittsburgh Steelers

Hi. I've nominated Logos and uniforms of the Pittsburgh Steelers, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Misplaced Pages:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article here, where you can improve it if you see fit. You don't need to do anything further, and I'll monitor to see if there are any questions. The article you created is a great article, and I had created an article for the Steelmark logo that ties into it. Keep up the great work! Alansohn (talk) 02:59, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Both articles, yours and mine, are included in the same nomination. Thanks for the offer. Alansohn (talk) 12:32, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Your uploads

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Misplaced Pages. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! STBotI (talk) 05:10, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Copyright violation in File:AbandonedTurnpikeMap.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on File:AbandonedTurnpikeMap.jpg, by another Misplaced Pages user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because File:AbandonedTurnpikeMap.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting File:AbandonedTurnpikeMap.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. DuMont

Hi Jgera,

Thanks so much for your recent contributions to DuMont Television Network. I'm pretty excited that someone else is adding sourced info to the article. Is it possible to find some different sources for the material you added? The current source that you provided is a blog, which normally isn't considered a reliable source. I'm pretty sure a better source for the material can be found. (You can respond here, on my talk page, or on the article's talk page, whichever is easiest for you). Again, thanks for your additions. File copyright problem with File:WesternReservePBS.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:WesternReservePBS.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Closedmouth (talk) 08:25, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:TESTPATTERN WFMJ.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TESTPATTERN WFMJ.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Virtual Wallet

A tag has been placed on Virtual Wallet, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of Clearview Federal Credit Union

A tag has been placed on Clearview Federal Credit Union requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies.

Proposed deletion of Clearview Federal Credit Union

The article Clearview Federal Credit Union has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not clear how this orphaned article meets notability guidelines, lacks any references to 3rd party sources

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 22:03, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Bengals–Steelers rivalry

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Bengals–Steelers rivalry. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Misplaced Pages:Notability and "What Misplaced Pages is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Bengals–Steelers rivalry. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:25, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 29 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Fair use rationale for File:CityofChampions.jpg

Regarding your recent move of Dodge Ram - did you see the discussion, now at Talk:Ram (pickup truck)#Requested move? The conclusion was to not move the article on Dec 23, 2009, and I don't think the case has changed much since then. Please discuss the move there first. --Vossanova 19:17, 1 February 2010 (UTC)_Ram_(pickup_truck)"> _Ram_(pickup_truck)">

Removed Dick LeBeau from list of Steelers HoFers

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I reverted a change you made a while back in adding Dick LeBeau to the list of Steelers Hall of Famers. I don't believe that he belongs, since he was inducted as a player, but he never played for the Steelers. I am a bit ambivalent about the change, since it is commonly accepted that LeBeau's coaching career (notably as the Steelers DC) played a large part in his selection. However, I haven't seen anything from the Hall of Fame or the selection committee that actually states that. I'd welcome your feedback on the talk page.— DeeJayK (talk) 15:49, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Roger Goodell

Hi Jgera, regarding your edit with this diff, why do you think it is necessary to clarify that the players have moved to different teams? The table clearly states that the team listed is the team at the time of suspension. The section in question already strays way too far from being about Goodell, and really should be even further trimmed or moved to another article. Perhaps the solution would be to remove any mention of the teams, and just mention the players who are suspended. The references will tell the reader team info if they have any interest in it. For that matter, the player's article will tell the same thing. — Huntster (t @ c) 00:55, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

1978 Pittsburgh Steelers season article

I realize it's been quite a while, but you participated in a discussion regarding improving the article on the '78 Steelers season. I've recently taken up the cause of getting this article up to Good Article standards and have made quite a few substantive changes to the article. There's still work to be done, but the article is shaping up.

I'd love it if you would take a look at what I've done and provide any feedback on the article talk page. Thanks!— DeeJayK (talk) 21:05, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Integra Bank (Pittsburgh)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Integra Bank (Pittsburgh), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://companies.jrank.org/pages/1779/German-American-Bancorp.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article The Simpsons Movie, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:28, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

FAC withdrawn

I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Terrible Towel article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Pittsburgh event for Misplaced Pages's tenth anniversary

Hi! Since you're listed as a Wikipedian in Pittsburgh, I wanted to invite you to the Misplaced Pages Tenth Anniversary celebrations we're having in Pittsburgh on Saturday, January 15. During the daytime, we're going to be having a photo contribution drive where anyone can bring in their digital photos or prints and Wikipedians will teach people how to upload them and add them to articles, and maybe introduction to Misplaced Pages workshops as well. Then in the evening, we'll have fun at the Carson City Saloon. There will be free Misplaced Pages t-shirts and other goodies, as well. See the Pittsburgh meetup page for more details. I hope to see you there!--ragesoss (talk) 15:13, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Cool. It's looking like the current plan is to move the start of the Misplaced Pages celebration to before the game starts, and then we can stake out an area of the bar and watch the game together.--ragesoss (talk) 03:55, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Hey! This is just a friendly reminder about the Misplaced Pages 10th anniversary celebration in Pittsburgh tomorrow. The meeting time has been moved up to 4:00 so that we can gather before the game starts and stake out places, and it may be a good idea to get there even sooner, if you can. Pittsburgh bars are likely to be a little crazy and very crowded. See you there!--ragesoss (talk) 02:15, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Pittsburgh meetup: Sunday, 13 February

In case you're free, the next Pittsburgh Misplaced Pages meetup is this Sunday. Hope you can make it!--ragesoss (talk) 01:35, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

File:I-376 (PA) map.png

Original SVG map created by 25or6to4 (talk · contribs) on January 1, 2009 and updated on November 18, 2009
File:I-376 (PA) map.png
New PNG uploaded on March 22, 2011

You need to correct this map's information. It is clearly based upon the older map. The SVG map is licensed under either a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license or GNU Free Documentation License. The CC license, by including the "Share Alike" restriction, requires derivative works to be licensed under the exact same license. The GFDL "is similar to the GNU General Public License, giving readers the rights to copy, redistribute, and modify a work and requires all copies and derivatives to be available under the same license." You have released your derivative under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication, which is incompatible with the terms of the original file's licenses. The proper course of action should have been to:

  1. Contact 25or6to4 about updating his map
  2. Requesting an updated map at WP:USRD/MTF, the Maps Taskforce of the US Roads Wikiproject.
  3. Nothing. The change you made to the map was to the routing of I-99, which is not the subject of the map. Such detail doesn't impact the key purpose of the map, which is to show the location of I-376 in PA.

Please act on these issues soon. If the licensing issue is not resolved properly, the file will be nominated for deletion as a copyright/licensing violation. Imzadi 1979  03:15, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Hey I contacted 25or6to4 on updating their original map to show that I-99 goes all the way to I-80. It was a good faith edit. I had to create a PNG version of the map since it wouldn't save as an SVG map. I apologize for any problems. Jgera5 (talk) 03:30, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
It might be a good-faith edit, but you still need to observe the original file's license. Honestly though, the map didn't need to be updated. If this were a map of I-99 for the I-99 article, or a map of all of the Interstates in PA for an article on Interstates in PA, then yes, it needed to be updated. For I-376, the presence or absence of the I-99 extension does not impact the purpose of the map in the I-376 article. Imzadi 1979  03:35, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
