::::My dear Dahn, creating a new account is as easily as posting without having one. As for tracing my steps, I find it difficult to believe that my gratitude towards Sanger constitutes as proof for anything other than ... well, holding him in high esteem. As one who should be acquainted with Misplaced Pages, it is a well known fact that Sanger is revered by many and, if someone who wants his stand known on this issue risks of being banned, then so be it. So I say to you: do what you will; but know that the anonymous user finds it difficult to feel shame or pride. :) Defestistul.

WARNING: If you've come here to "notify" me of an AFD of an article you nominated the chances are, based on previous nominations, that there is a 99.9% chance you are mistaken and that the article can be expanded and is encyclopedic. Articles I create are almost always kept or the content at least redirected into a parent article as I'm usually a good judge of notability. Please don't waste everybody's time opening AFDs unless you have google searched first. If you want an article expanded, kindly ask.

West Worldham

How scary! I was in this village today and once I left you just started editing it! Jaguar (talk) 13:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

I just ran for my life to East Worldham! Jaguar (talk) 13:52, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Added a bit. If/When it's nom-able, I think I left you a note a week or two ago about an extra QPQ, which could be used for this village. --Rosiestep (talk) 22:08, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

See my note regarding QPQ in above section titled "Wilson". Also, East Worldham may interest you. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:04, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

East Worldham is a larger village with a much larger population. Nearby Hartley Mauditt is interesting because it is (from my unbiased point of view) the most haunted place on earth. It used to be a village with its own parish but now it's nothing more than a few houses and a church. Now I have no places to hide! Jaguar (talk) 13:42, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism/Edit War on Sholay Article

Hi Dr. Blofeld, Sorry to bother you, but this tamil wikipedian named secretofsuccess (http://en.wikipedia.org/User:Secret_of_success) keeps removing hindi script from the article Sholay (and other hindi movie articles). The movies are in HINDI. You can't remove hindi script for the names of HINDI movies. Can you please tell him to stop vandalizing and possibly even give him a warning. Also, for further reference, http://en.wikipedia.org/Languages_with_official_status_in_India . Thanks for your time Dr. Blofeld. Please reply on my talk page if need be. reply to you

I don't mean to be difficult. I see what I see and I have explained it as plainly as I can. I don't want to look at it again unless you have changed it. I just keep seeing that wikilink and I cannot get passed it.--Ishtar456 (talk) 23:28, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

1. no, you did not do anything to offend me...until now. I felt as if I explained the problems several times to you and I was getting no where. I finally X'd the nom when it seemed to me that you were not going to fix the problem. I certainly was not going to change my mind. I have had a recent review removed from prep. and it is not my intention to be that kind of reviewer. When you posted on my user page yesterday, you did not even mention that you had changed the hook. All you had to do was say "I changed the hook, can you take another look at it". I certainly would have under those circumstances. It seemed reasonable to me for me to abandon the process when you come on to my user page and accused me of "making things exceptionally difficult"
2 I very recently suggested on the DYK discussion page that it should be a policy to that a reviewer finish a review once he/she starts it. I was told that that was unreasonable. So, I know I had no duty to continue that review, especially when you had been so contentious to me off the official discussion.
3. If you are disheartened by DYK, either become part of the solution to the problems that are bothering you or take a break from it. This experience with you has certainly disheartened me, especially the comments you made after your nom passed and you had what you wanted.
  • Just as a side note: Your nom has been there only a couple of days. Mine has been there a week (just under yours) and no one has touched it. It would have been far better for me to have made a quick pass of your nom (as I have done in the past) which is what I expected when I started it. Then maybe you would have seen mine and considered doing it. But once I realized that you were going to be stubborn about the problem I gave up. 'nuf said. Let's move on.

Burton Court

While approving your DYK nomination for Burton Court, I edited the sentence in the article to which the hook applies. You may like to check the article. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:20, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

St Lawrence's

Thanks for the message, Doc. If you'd like to do it please go ahead. I'm afraid I don't have that much time these days and have given that article about as much energy as I can muster. Good luck if you do decide to do anything! William de Alton could do with some expansion; I could find precisely zilch about him, and his date of birth is an embarrassment... Steep could do with a bit of expansion too. I keep meaning to go there; there's lots about it in Now All Roads Lead to France, a recent book on Edward Thomas (poet) that's quite excellent. Ericoides (talk) 22:55, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

For the barnstar! The article is nothing much, I've just been trying to develop the Syrian locales subject area lately. One town at a time. Look forward to working and discussing with you in the near future my old friend. Keep up the great work yourself! Regards, --Al Ameer son (talk) 03:53, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

I've gathered some sources and will expand the Blue Mosque article within a few days. I'm a little busy with college right now or else I would begin work on immediately. Also trying to start articles on Inkhil and Harrah, Syria as well. I'll keep you posted. --Al Ameer son (talk) 15:22, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
I've pretty much finished expanding the article for now. I might add more about the blue tiles later. Do you want to nominate it for DYK as 5x expansion? --Al Ameer son (talk) 17:38, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Clint Eastwood

You have reverted with no explanation detail which is clearly excessive for the article. Please do not reinsert it, it belongs in the article about the film and not in a more general article about Eastwood. If you compare the edits, you should be able to see that it reads much better omitted. You have also by the way restored twice a grammatical mistake which I fixed. Speedy deletion nomination of Catholic Association of South Kanara

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Catholic Association of South Kanara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:12, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

NT Rama Rao

Haven't used my watchlist since November (schoolwork means that my wikitime is devoted to new writing, when I have any wikitime at all), but I've looked over the article. Note that you're at 3RR; this is definitely edit warring, and although 3RR hasn't been breached, I could block both of you, although since you came in and asked me for help, I suppose I'm involved and shouldn't be issuing any blocks or making any protections. That being said, I have to question the idea of splitting political and cinematographical careers; we don't do that with Arnold Schwarzenegger or Ronald Reagan, the only people whom I can think of that became prominent in film and then held important political posts. Nyttend (talk) 13:29, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

By the way, you refer to "his political article", but the only one I can find is Chief Ministership of N. T. Rama Rao, which you started. What article do you mean? Nyttend (talk) 13:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Umm, you must have misread what I said above: I definitely do not support Moviehub's removal of the political content. Nyttend (talk) 14:06, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Reverted to this version, since you can't. Thanks for the contrast with the actor/politicians that I mentioned; since I know very little about either one in India, I didn't know how much or how little was published about this one. I would have been more willing to participate in this situation if it weren't for the edit war; I figured that he'd keep warring against you and break 3RR, so I expected that the situation could easily be resolved with a blatant policy violation on his part. That's why I kept watching and filed the WP:AN3 report as soon as I could. If obviously blockable actions hadn't been likely to happen, I would have been more willing to participate myself, but I expected that this kind of block would be less disputable and more likely to have the desired effect. Nyttend (talk) 15:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I understand, I have reworded now. I think actually if the article was made into a good article, more people would care about retaining and preserving its quality. I received a nasty message from an ip at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Chief Ministership of N. T. Rama Rao BTW, another POV pusher. The problem is that he is a cult figure amongst the Andhra Pradesh people, and attracts people who want to glorify him or write about, unfortunately its usuauly done with a poor command of English or/and and riddled with POV and lacks RS. Its definitely one of those article which should be watched by a lot of people to look out for it. I care about that particular article as I put a lot of work into cleaning it up about a year and a half ago and getting it up to a half decent structure and standard. If you let these people have their way before you know it it'll be like most of the Indian articles we have on wikipedia.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:44, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Hey, in turn I accidentally undid some of your improvements; sorry. I was attempting some grammar/spelling/capitalisation/wording/etc. fixes, and in attempting to keep up with multiple edit conflicts, I think I wasn't able to ensure that quite all of your improvements made it into my edit. Nyttend (talk) 16:14, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
I think I'll stop editing it now; you'll have an easier time without me causing all of the edit conflicts. Have to say that I chuckled at "uRama Raoustworthy", "coRama Raoibutions", and "6 ceRama Raoes" :-) Nyttend (talk) 16:21, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
My only suggestion would be to issue {{uw-npa1}} and successive warnings, since obviously incorrect accusations of vandalism are construed as personal attacks. Nyttend (talk) 16:32, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
When I issue templated warnings, I always use the template name in the edit summary, e.g. the summary is "uw-npa4", so that it's easily visible to anyone looking at the page history. You could do an AIV report with a comment of "user keeps removing warnings". Complicated situations, like today's content dispute, aren't easily blockable without investigation, but I doubt that you'd have difficulty implementing an NPA block when you've been innocent of violating NPA. Nyttend (talk) 16:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Oops, "getting someone to implement an NPA block" is what I meant. Frankly, I like the style of older encyclopedias better than the way Misplaced Pages articles end up, but there's no doubt that your reversion brings the article much closer to our standards. If you'd asked me and not done anything, I would have reverted as you did. Nyttend (talk) 19:14, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

please note this:

1. I have checked your issue of Bare URL's , there are only 6-7 bare URl's included, in the version which I recommended.

2. Your current version is full of grammar mistakes and lack of cohesion and original research in it, with kindergarten english level and unprofessional language.

3. I will correct The bare URl's and correct grammar and then will re write the quality version, that which you lacked. which I recommend will be included by me, in fact the reference of bare URls are appropriate, but they are just added as bare URL's all your cited references are un reliable.

4. I will correct your mistakes, so that in future you dont harras fellow editors

5. I cant understand why people like u make[REDACTED] a hell of a experience with non sense and POV

I use "kindergarten english level and unprofessional language", "I make[REDACTED] a hell of a experience with non sense and POV". Haha that's one of the funniest things I've heard anybody say in quite a long time on here!!! Coming from somebody who can't even spell the word "harrass" or "you", doesn't know to use a capital letter for English, and comes up with expressions like "please not this" and can't even sign his name properly. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:29, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Peer review

My dear Doctor, though I am very happy indeed to review at GAN articles such as Burges, now on the stocks, you are only getting Riley's view. Might it be preferable to put such articles through peer review, where it won't just be this old codger's comments but a range of input? Just a thought. Tim riley (talk) 16:44, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Aha! Just clocked your note on my talk page. I see we are ad idem, as the lawyers say. Good. Silly of me not to spot the PR request. Anyway, always happy to be of service wherever wanted! Tim riley (talk) 16:53, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

My apologies

Of course you are. You did get an acknowledgment for the barnstar (belated, as I was on and off when you added it), and I'm sorry if it looked more like a "meh" than my message to Gerda. But, come on, she's a lady - we always go the extra mile when ladies offer compliments, don't we?

Don't we?

But you're right, I was being a cheeky monkey, comparatively so. Please accept my apologies, dear Dr. I should be rewarding you with your own barnstar, but it would kinda seem like a prompted gesture after this... in which case... expect it to hit you when you least expect it, though... least expect it...

.......least expect it..... Dahn (talk) 14:08, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

I've got admirers who do that for me, but apparently I've managed to short-circut the system - there's a "follow this link" on Talk:Ioan Gyuri Pascu since forever. I seem to be putting them out faster than they can handle, even when I'm not proposing them myself :D.
But seriously, though I know that the GA review guys are entirely reasonable, I tend to steer away from proposing the articles myself. I was really dissatisfied with the *&$$ᾊθ**ness of the FA process back in the day. It's also that I get much more satisfaction when fellow editors bump into the articles by accident and let me know that they have enjoyed looking over them, even when they do not propose them for GA review. And if they do, then even better. Think of it as my Easter egg hunt :).
I have actually lost track of how many GAs I have, and I never did keep track. But I would sure like to know how many DYKs I've pulled through, because I would really have an interesting benchmark! If you know something about counting DYKs without actually going manually through a backlog (mine or theirs) please let me know.

movie posters

Hey, I see you added some posters to the movie articles. You used the fair use rationale "to provide critical commentary on the film, event, etc. in question or of the poster itself, not solely for illustration" - I don't think this is the case as there is no commentary from the poster, or about the poster, or using the poster as a reference. I think actually use of the poster for illustration only _should_ be fine, but that is apparently not what policy dictates. I think either we would need to remove the posters, or get some consensus/RFC that illustrative only is acceptable (and then we can change the fair use templates). Gaijin42 (talk) 15:26, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

I copied the rationale for the film poster for Fight Club, an FA. If you have a problem with that rationale feel free to address Erik or start a discussion about it. But where did I use the rationale " "to provide critical commentary on the film, event, etc. in question or of the poster itself, not solely for illustration" "? Ah I see Template:Non-free poster. But that templates is used on tens of thousands of wiki articles when the posters are intended to illustrate/identify not used for critical commentary! Well spotted, you should bring it up at WP:FILMS♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:32, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

It appears that this has been discussed before, and that the posters are currently ok. I will bring up changing the template, since it is in disagreement with the current consensus. ] Gaijin42 (talk) 15:41, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Agree it is a very strange statement in it which seems to contradict why the posters are being used which is actually solely to identify the product visually in an infobx and not for critical commentary in the text as screenshorts might be. Appreciate that you spotted it though as I agree its odd.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:07, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

List of jazz standards - some questions "he/she" etc

I made some edits to List of jazz standards in the "A", "B", and "C" sections. I undid the "B" and "C" edits because I realized I need to learn what do do about songs with alternate titles.

I didn't realize - it's a huge issue for that page.

I admittedly hadn't heard of it!! So let me get this straight. You are permitted to screw QR plaques into listed buildings and such? And then scan the phone on to the plaque to get the information? Proposed deletion of Eye Hospital

The article Eye Hospital has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced and extremely short

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

I read your introductory note above and googled "eye hospital" singapore but did not find enough to justify keeping the page. This states "Day Surgery Centre" and provides address & phone number, but does not confirm notability, and that was all out of the first 20 results. – Fayenatic L (talk) 22:53, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

I do appreciate that as the verifiable directorial debut of a notable person, this article meets a criteria of WP:NF, and that it does have coverage... but I ask that you take a look at this edit and consider that a "redirect" is pretty much okay for now just so long as there is no prejudice toward a recreation of the article if/when more sources become available AND as long as the returned article be properly sourced and maintain a properly neutral tone. Tahiti location map

Hi! I was wondering whether or not you could help me out regarding this location map which you created: File:Location map Tahiti.png Next year Tahiti will be hosting the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and a location map will be needed to display the venues for the tournament, as in the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. However this file has not been created in the same style as the Italian location map used for the previous World Cup. I was wondering whether you would be willing to create a Tahiti location map (including island of Moorea on the map) in the style of this map: File:Italy provincial location map.svg, as I have no idea how to do it. Unattributed splits

Hi. :) I'm dropping by because a series of articles you created in November 2010 are listed at the copyright problems board. It seems that you may have created these as unattributed splits from other Misplaced Pages articles (I'm not sure about all of them, but I know that in this edit, you added content to the article that had been previously published here). I assume that in November 2010 you did not know that content on Misplaced Pages is not public domain and can only be reused if you provide attribution to its authors. I realized that it's quite possible that you've learned that since then. In accordance with Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages, I've provided attribution in the edit summary of the split article () and at the talk pages of both articles (; ). Can you please come by Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems/2012 March 3 and repair attribution for any others that may have been split with the requisite notices? I'm not sure if they're all split or from what articles. This'll bring those articles into compliance with copyright. :) (Oh, if you can leave a note there when it's done, I'll be happy to finish the mop up.) --Moonriddengirl 20:43, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

We should publish Dahn's articles in a book

Dear Dr. Blofeld,

Allow me to join in your admiration for Dahl de la Macha: he deserves all the laudations that you have bestowed upon him. But permit me to go even further. I think it would be a good idea for us to publish all of Dahn's articles in a book, in the same matter that previous material produced on Misplaced Pages has been published and sold for profit or for charity. The title of the book could be something in the style of, "Dahn--A Life", or "Dahn's Collective Works". If Dahn chooses to remain anonymous, the mystery surrounding his name could surpass that of Pseudo Longinus; if he, however, chooses to come out, then he could go on a tour ... I for one would kill to get my hands on a signed copy of his book! Wouldn't you? Let me know what you think. :) Yours truly, Defestistul. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.52.15.110 (talk) 15:16, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Well, his writing is certainly of a professional standard and he could have books published.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:27, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Then I leave the task for selecting and compiling his work to you, my good sir! You should also write the introduction note, which, I believe, should not be any less modest in style than Hugo's eulogy in honour of Voltaire's centenary. Defetistul. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.52.15.110 (talk) 16:33, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
  • For me as a fellow writer who can very much relate to it, the below speed of Dahn's content-creation occurring on a routine basis is a curious phenomenon. I'd love to know the whole secret. Poeticbent talk 18:24, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Why, but Rasselas was written in a week and surely Dahn can't be less industrious than Johnson! (I'm still waiting for Lives of the English Wikipedians). If we must employ logic so to explain his omnipresence, considering that we can neither prove nor falsify anything on this matter, at firt glimpse we'd have to agree that Dahn is a name that stands for a collective of individuals. Alternately, you could summon all Misplaced Pages bishops to Nicaea and put the matter to vote in order to decide on Dahn's true nature. Is he, indeed, several persons; or do these persons belong to the same hypostatic union? If you ask me, I always thought of Dahn as a god. Talk page stalker friendly note: unless there are any problems with Dahn's articles (in which case this should be discussed at AN(I) or another applicable forum, the above discussion, started by an IP could be seen as verging close to harassment. Btw, playing devil's advicate, Dahn could be writing articles off wiki and batch moving them. Lastly, Dahn's and in fact everyone else's articles ARE published in books. :) --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 17:17, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

African films

Thanks. I completed the creation of articles just before I was stopped. Now I'm going to create film articles from this African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival in Italy (22 editions). As you can see here, they adopted CC BY-SA on their texts (with also an English short translation) as a collaboration with Italian Misplaced Pages. What do you think about this source? Should they send an OTRS to avoid problems with en.wiki? Thanks again. --M.casanova (talk) 17:23, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello! Your submission of Hereford Cathedral Library at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know!  Tigerboy1966  20:53, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Dear Doctor

I want this read aloud, in a creaky voice, to a drum roll:
Dear Doctor, you are undoubtedly one of the good friends I've made here on wikipedia. It is hard for me to sum up how much I've been helped and touched by your generosity and your wit, your encouragements and your attentiveness, your competence and your passion for editing. It is a subject of pride for me that you so much as read my contributions, let alone reserve praise for them; I know I erred in not showing my appreciation for you, and your work, in all these years we've been colleagues here on wikipedia. If I haven't told you yet, I am your dedicated reader, and, to say the least, the scope of your activity never ceases to amaze me.
If you'll permit me to say, I have always pictured you as one of the[REDACTED] friends I can never catch up with as much as I should, but whose friendliness, whether they know it or not, has been crucial in helping me return to[REDACTED] whenever I felt like leaving in disgust. In addition to so quite a few of my fellow Romanian editors (they know who they are!), that category includes luminous figures: (in no particular order) Illythr, Attilios, Tazmaniacs, Piotrus, Khoikhoi, K. Lastochka, Halibutt, Jmabel, Todor Bozhinov, and quite a few others. Some of them, alas, have since retired, but they are all in my thoughts and they all deserve individual praise for writing that has immensely helped this project. You are all decent, well-spoken, competent, helpful beyond what words can express. If ever I have accomplished anything worthy of note on wikipedia, it was by standing on the shoulders of giants, and you, Dr. Blofeld, are one of the gentlest giants out there.
I am sorry for the (surely unnerving) suspense between my last posts. Truth is it took me a while to put this into words, and I am still not entirely satisfied with the result. It is eerily emotional, pathetic even; but I am humbled and grateful, and these are strong emotions to have. I have searched far and wide for a barnstar that would formulate at least part of my esteem, and found that no such barnstar exists; I have pondered fabricating my own award, but that would seem either pompous, self-serving or even frivolous; I have, in the end, decided to attempt my hand at writing you a message that is not just well-deserved and (as you so gently put it) gifted in style, but also has the human touch.
And, not least of all, thank you for taking up that awful chore of counting up my DYKs (and creating me an entire subpage!). I am in your debt. Dahn (talk) 20:54, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

I would be honored to receive that sort of peer-review from you, and keen to know what catches your eye. If that is a task you really want to embark on, I only have two minor requests: please don't nominate more than one at a time (I might not be around to answer all the requests/objections that a reviewer may raise); please make sure you don't nominate those articles that still have what some might consider to be many redlinks - there are those out there who want to see them obliterated, and I just don't like removing links or creating stubs for the sake of a GA promotion (Dahn's No. 1 pet peeve). Dahn (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
It's all good. Did I mention I'm part-Bulgarian? Dahn (talk) 21:47, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Oh... Leave it on, I'll just bake two more! (Or one more...) Dahn (talk) 21:50, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Let's just say I know who the guy is - I keep getting spammed on my rowiki page, which I almost never bother to check, but sometimes he gets so bored that he pings me down here. Sometimes it's okay, but his main problem is that he has to be told when to quit. It's all an act, btw: I presume there is some genuine admiration involved, and he is an intelligent fella all in all, but he also gets at least some of his kicks from making me feel uncomfortable. Dahn (talk) 13:59, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

You'll have to forgive my intrusion but you see, after reading the welcome message on this talkpage, and seeing how you and Doctor Manhattan acted like brother-in-arms--thus counting the two of you as belonging to the same "organization"--I thought you wanted me summoned. And now I'm here! :) --Defetistul (talk) 23:32, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Why should I have to through the clerical trouble of getting them to close this new account by an indeffed user? (Incidentally, dude, it the "thank you Sanger" message up there, you're not making it hard on anyone to trace your steps.) Do you believe I actually enjoy exposing you to public shame? I don't; but if you give me reason to, I will, in the bat of an eye. Dahn (talk) 14:01, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
My dear Dahn, creating a new account is as easily as posting without having one.
Are you well today Dahn? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:04, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, Doc, I should've made it clear I was addressing "Defetistul". Dahn (talk) 14:08, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I gathered that but you seem a little edgy! I've responded to your "Oppose" on the DYK talk page BTW.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:12, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Well, the "utter nonsense" reply I got on DYK did get on my nerves a bit, especially since that user doesn't seem to care about the practical issue I brought up; but I'm not really worked up on any level. I just don't like the proposal, because, I have said, it just moves the problem around - if the issue is the competence of editors to deal with an article's promotion, then making it harder on others to verify that review is not really the way forward. I do not object to having GAs there on principle, I just feel that it is a false solution as far as the desired outcome goes. If you have a problem with, for instance, self-styled pornographic content on the main page, then the GA requirement simply means that the porn enthusiasts will just have to get their articles through the GA net while nobody else is watching. The GA review may be slower, but it is equally exposed to callousness, coteries and plain incompetence. Dahn (talk) 14:20, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

question about Infobox Town AT

Hello,

do you know whether the automatic linking of mayors at {{Infobox Town AT}} is a feature or a bug? (and if the former, is there a way to disable it?) The reason why it bothers me is that Hafning bei Trofaiach links to the wrong Peter Gruber; is there a way to change it without changing the template code?

(see also Template_talk:Infobox_Town_AT#Automatic_Wikilinking_of_mayors)

Thank you very much! Sasha (talk) 13:55, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

No idea, but that infobox ought to be replaced with infobox settlement. Problems like this wouldn't happen then!♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:00, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I have left a note to the template's author at User_talk:Attilios#question_about_Infobox_Town_AT (probably you are right about deprecating the template completely, but — since this is my first encounter with this template — I prefer to start with less radical solutions and leave the more radical ones to more competent editors).
