Carol T. Christ (b. 1944) is a scholar of Victorian literature and English Literature in general. She is past editor of the Norton Anthology of English Literature, and has served since 2002 as the tenth official president of Smith College.
Christ was born in New York City in 1944. In 1966, she graduated with high honors from Douglass College and received the Ph.D. in English from Yale University.
