Narang Mandi نارنگ منڈی is a small town located in the Muridke Tehsil of Sheikhupura District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is renowned for its good quality rice, which is known throughout Pakistan.

History

Historically Narang Mandi has been on the cross roads of ancient trade routes in Punjab leading to Delhi and other parts of Northern India. Before partition Narang Mandi was called Narang. The word Mandi was added after independence due to the establishment of a big Market (Mandi) of Rice and Rice Processing. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, because of the cross border tension this trade stature was very much lost. Mr. Muhammad Ghulam Sabir Mughal (1916-1999) is one of the founder of the Narang Mandi, who was born in Gurdaspur a city in the state of Punjab, situated in the northwest part of the of India.
