Peter Alexander Stringer (born 13 December 1977) is a rugby union player who plays at scrum half for Munster and Ireland. He is one of the most recognisable players in world rugby as Stringer is one of the smallest players at 5ft 7inches (170 cms) tall and weighing in at just over 70kgs (152lbs).
In February 2000 he made his debut for Ireland against Scotland in the Six Nations Championship. Since then, As of 2006. He has appeared in 66 out of Irelands last 70 Matches. This reflects his fitness, ability and work ethic as an international scrum half. His trademark as a scrum half is an amazing ability to take down larger players, especially with one handed "tap tackles".
In February 2006 he scored a definitive try for Ireland against Wales in the Six Nations Championship, when they beat them 31-5.
