M. Macha NightMare (Aline O'Brien) is a witch.
In August 2012 NightMare announced her withdrawal from the Reclaiming tradition stating that "I no longer feel that its principles and practices accord with my own".
NightMare represented Pagans on the Biodiversity Project Spirituality Working Group. She is a member of the American Academy of Religion (AAR), Nature Religions Scholars Network, Marin Interfaith Council, United Religions Initiative (URI), Interfaith Center of the Presidio (ICP), as well as serving on the Advisory Councils of the Sacred Dying Foundation and PEARL (Pagan Elders Assistance and Resource League).
