Sarath Gunapala,(Sinhala:සරත් ගුණපාල) is a Sri Lankan solid-state physicist, Senior Research Scientist and Group Supervisor at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He works primarily in Quantum Well Infrared Photo Detecting. He is also a Board Member of Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector Technologies LLC.

Personal life

Gunapala currently lives in the suburbs of Los Angeles, CA with his wife Vajira. He has said in interviews that he likes to travel in his free time, especially to the east coast to visit his children.
