== Daan Roosegaarde ==

Daan Roosegaarde is the founder of Studio Roosegaarde. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts (AKI) in Enschede and from a master at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, Daan Roosegaarde started to combine disciplines to research interactive and digital environments. <ref>http://interactionstudiesbyhzh.blogspot.nl/2012/12/dune-42-daan-roosegaarde.html</ref> In 2006, Daan Roosegaarde founded Studio Roosegaarde,<ref>http://www.strategies-research.ufg.ac.at/english/archive/seminar07_VL1.html</ref> which has been developing interactive installations in collaboration with various material manufacturers, software programmers and others ever since.<ref>http://we-make-money-not-art.com/archives/2006/12/dune-40-develop.php#.UVGXb1t-z1I</ref>

Daan's inspiration stems from his travels and public spaces where people interact with each other and the environment. He believes human interaction to be the key ingredient of his work. <ref>http://www.marklives.com/wordpress/2013/03/design-indaba-2013-daan-roosegaarde-hacking-technology-to-personalise-our-environments/</ref>
His 'Dune' and 'Intimacy' are tactile high-tech environments in which the viewer and space become one. This connection, established between ideology and technology, results in what Roosegaarde calls ‘techno-poetry.’ <ref>http://www.picnicnetwork.org/daan-roosegaarde</ref>He is also known as an innovator and frequent invited lecturer with his motto: ‘Don't Copy-Paste, but Copy-Morph’.<ref>http://www.howdoyoudo2011.nl/?p=62</ref>
