Cappie Pondexter(Janurary 7, 1983) is a women's basketball player at Rutgers University. She is widely considered to be one of the best women's basketball players at the college level. She was selected 2nd overall in the 2006 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury

She was nothing short of phenomenal at Rutgers. During her four years there, she helped the Scarlet Knights to a 97-22 record, and back-to-back Big East Championships in 2005 and 2006. She competed in Four NCAA Tournaments, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2005. During the 2005-2006 season, Rutgers compiled a 27-5 record, including a 16-0 record in Big East Conference play, including 2 wins over University of Connecticut.

She was named the 2006 Women's Basketball News Service National Player of the year. Throughout her career, she scored over 2,000 career points.
