Hi. I am here as a result of the central discussion. Your insistence on adding ] regarding traditional counties combined with your failure to listen to others have become disruptive. If you continue to edit as you have done, you will be blocked for escalating periods until you stop or until the block becomes indefinite. I propose to block you for 48 hours initially to reflect the waste of time you have caused to others. You are not blocked yet, but you will be if you continue to add material relating to traditional counties to Scotland. Please find something more useful to do. Thanks. --] (]) 10:08, 23 July 2013 (UTC) |

Thanks
Thanks for your contributions. While there are some minor issues with the way you created these, the intention and effort are appreciated, and articles on these topics are clearly welcome here. Please don't be discouraged by this rocky start. Fram (talk) 12:16, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thankyou Fram.
ANI
Hello. There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Ben MacDui 19:08, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Scotire, in the discussion mentioned above it would help if you adopted a slightly different method of responding. It's usual at AN/I to respond to others' contributions by replying after someone else's post, rather than breaking up their post into smaller chunks by dotting responses within it after each point. I know it will seem a relatively minor point, but it really makes a difference to people reading the page and it will be in your own interests! Kim Dent-Brown 07:37, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Aberdeen
Aberdeenshire and Aberdeenshire (historic) are different articles. The latter is what County of Aberdeen redirects to. By adding "County of Aberdeen" to the former you are confusing the two. Please consider that when you get reverted left right and centre, that you might be making a mistake. Misplaced Pages's article titles and redirects and alternatives and disambiguation pages can all cause confusion to new editors. If in doubt, ask for some guidance. We all make mistakes but to keep forcing them back in will lead to blocks. Colin° 19:25, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- The confusion to others is that Aberdeenshire and Aberdeenshire (historic) are the same place, and by not adding "County of Aberdeen" to Aberdeenshire, some people do not, or will not, accept that it is not "former". According to the "Register of Scotland" online, it is still an official Scottish Government Registration County, and not just a Local Government Council area. Scotire (talk) 05:42, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- It is you who are confused, and don't seem to understand why we have two separate articles. Colin° 07:55, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- This is not my area of expertise but I have to agree with Colin. One is for the current council area the other is for the historic county that (apparently) retains its (relatively minor) role as a registration county. In both cases the role as a local authority is the more important but there is no reason not to mention the latter in the historic article. Phrases like "some people do not, or will not, accept that it is not "former"." are simply a POV. The historic county is a former local authority area - whether you like this or not. Ben MacDui

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Firth, Orkney may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
- Katanes'' (map, Inverness, Nevis Print)</ref> meaning a ] or ]) is a Civil parish ( ] mainly in ]. <ref>Visions of Britain.
Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 05:04, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
