Tbhotch, you're nobody and have no power to block anyone. Let's escalate this to a Misplaced Pages arbitration, or further up the ladder since it bothers you so much that your Pope may have been homosexual. What I posted is substantiated enough to be posted. "Suggestions" about who and what historical figures are or were abound in biographies, so step back - take a breath, and don't let your personal feelings interfere with your biographies. ] (]) 07:24, 29 July 2013 (UTC) |

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to The Sherry-Netherland, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:
- If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
- If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;
If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Elizium23 (talk) 04:35, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
The copyright on the 1969 screenplay Midnight Cowboy expired in 1997. Cryellow (talk) 04:57, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at The Sherry-Netherland. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Misplaced Pages this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Misplaced Pages is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 17:47, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
I am in the right here - Ken is removing content. By default, content remains. As well, I allowed many MONTHS on the talk page for this matter to be discussed, and everyone who commented on the matter (except of course Ken) agreed that my content should remain. Cryellow (talk) 03:49, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, you are wrong, but even if you were right you would have no license to edit war as you still are. You are wrong because you are up against a consensus of editors who are all arguing the opposite side. Nobody supports your opinion. There is no such rule that "by default, text stays". If the paragraph had been in the article for some time, and it was stable, and suddenly a discussion arose about removing it, and there were no consensus to remove it, then the paragraph would stay. But that is a hypothetical situation and not what is happening here. You are trying to force in a change that nobody wants. You will lose in the end if you continue to be disruptive. You should instead keep cool, and argue your case only on the talk page. Refrain from editing the article because it is too hot to touch right now. Once you win hearts and minds on the talk page then you can make changes. But right now, you are only attracting negative attention from ordinary editors like me, and admins who can and will block you for your behavior. Think it over. Elizium23 (talk) 03:58, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
Ken is the one who keeps removing the content - and I left the content off for many MONTHS while waiting for opinions from others on this issue. Finally after many MONTHS I noted that no one had voted for its removal other than Ken. One person (Ken's friend) had voted for its retention, after being shortened. All the others voted that it be retained as is. So, how can you say "actually you are wrong." You are wrong. After all these MONTHS passed and the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of retaining it, I re-posted it. Any opinions after the matter has been left open for MONTHS are irrelevant. Hello, I'm Tbhotch. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Pope Benedict XVI, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Misplaced Pages has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 07:00, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles or any other Misplaced Pages page, as you did at Pope Benedict XVI with this edit. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Misplaced Pages policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. Thank you. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 07:07, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
My content is referenced - two separate sources. Sorry to shatter your Catholicism, but what I posted is valid enough especially considering that the sentence I wrote starts off with "It has been suggested." Cryellow (talk) 07:09, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- " Sorry to shatter your Catholicism", for your information I am atheist, not catholicist. Second, you are saying that it is suggested, this means, somebody said something and since then has been speculation around it. Unless Ratzinger or evidence like letters or voice recordings exists suggesting he retired because of this, your references have not validity. I suggest you to read WP:BLP and WP:EW, because considering you've been edit-warring in another page your account can be blocked from editing because of disruptive editing. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 07:15, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
This is your last warning; the next time you harm Misplaced Pages, as you did at Pope Benedict XVI with this edit, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 07:15, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
