Jace Beleren is a blue Planeswalker in Magic: The Gathering. As the epitome of a blue mage, he specializes in mental magic, including mind-reading, illusion, telepathy, curiosity, deception, and of course, knowledge.

Cards

In the game, he shows up in four different forms: Jace Beleren (Core Sets 2010 and 2011, Lorwyn, special release with the book Agents of Artifice, and Duel Deck Jace vs. Chandra) who allows his controller to draw cards and make their opponent discard cards from the deck in a process known as "decking"; Jace, Memory Adept (Core Sets 2012-2014), who, like Jace Beleren, provides ample resources for decking strategies; Jace, the Mind Sculpter (Worldwake, From the Vault 20), who allows his controller to draw cards, manipulate their opponent's libraries (as opposed to just sending it all to the graveyard), and ultimately exiling the opponent's library (he was also the first Planeswalker with four abilities); and Jace, Architect of Thought (Return to Ravnica), who temporarily weakens opposing creatures and allows a player to search each library for any one card. All versions are Mythic Rare, except for Lorwyn (since there was no Mythic Rare rarity at the time).

Jace is also mentioned in a large number of other cards' flavor text, incuding Redirect and Leyline Phantom; in the art of various cards, including Uncovered Clues and Omniscience; and in the names of certain spells, including Jace's Ingenuity and Jace's Mindseeker. The vast majority of cards that reference him are blue.

Story

Jace has traveled to various planes, including Lorwyn, Zendikar, and Ravnica.
