'''Spike Pickles''' is the pet dog of the Pickles family in ] shows '']'' and '']'', and is among the series' original characters. He is a fictional breed called "Siberian Tiger Hound".

Spike does not speak until 1994 ''In the Dreamtime'' and in the 2003 movie ''Rugrats Go Wild''.

Spike does not often appear as the main subject of episodes but appears in almost every episode of the series as a cameo or as a supporting character.
==In ''Rugrats''==
Spike is the Pickles family dog and one of ]'s closest companion, useful as a mode of transportation for him (particularly in the earlier seasons) and for companionship. Albeit Spike usually plays a minor role in the series, he has seen larger roles in multiple random episodes, to the point of even starring in at least one episode unraveling from his viewpoint where he finds himself being continuously misunderstood and blamed for damage that he never caused in an attempt to protect baby ] from harm's way. Spike is portrayed as being an average pet dog; loyal and friendly. In ''Rugrats in Paris,'' Spike sparks a romance with a stray French poodle named Fifi, thus providing the film with a brief minor sub-plot, and in the crossover movie ''Rugrats Go Wild'', in search of the missing Rugrats, Spike inadvertently stumbles upon ] with whom he is capable of communicating through her mystical gift of speaking with animals, so comical anthropomorphism is added to his personality. His voice is provided by ] in this film, albeit any anthropomorphism with which Spike is depicted in this portrayal recedes entirely for the remainder of the animated television program.

*'']''
For the beginning and middle of the movie, Spike was used by Angelica as a bloodhound when she tried to retrieve her doll, Cynthia, from Tommy's new brother, Dil. He plays a much larger role at the end when he saves the babies from a wolf, Scar Snout, who tries to eat them, but falls in a large lake below along with the wolf, causing the babies to cry. When Tommy finds the "wizard" (who is actually Stu) he looks for throughout the film, rather than asking the wizard to get him and his friends home, he wishes for his dog back. Stu then falls and finds Spike, who is revealed to have survived the fall, unharmed and he joins the kids back home. The wolf's fate is unknown but it can be assumed that he drowned.

*'']''
Spike plays a small role in this film. He is only shown briefly throughout the entire movie (though the credits feature many images of him) with Fifi, a purple-and-white poodle he meets and later mates with. Spike appears at the end of the movie as well, at the wedding. Oddly, the gang didn't notice he was gone the whole trip.

*'']''
In the third movie, Spike plays a central role as one of the main characters. He is now voiced by actor ]. However, it is only when he's talking to Eliza Thornberry (the main character of '']'' who is able to talk to animals like him). He's shown to care a great deal about the babies as he sees them as his own. His personality is expanded upon as well. With Eliza's help, Spike ends up saving the day at the end of the movie, and vows to "never lose his babies again".

==In ''All Grown Up!''==

===Role===
Unlike in ''Rugrats'', Spike acts as a recurring character in ''All Grown Up!'' (rather than a main character). In the series, he rarely ever appears as a main subject of episodes though does often appear as a cameo in the Pickles' house.
===Personality===
Spike has visually gained weight, walks much slower, and has obviously grown much older (over 90 years old in dog years). The same occurs with his mate Fifi. Spike is still loved by Tommy, Dil, Didi and Stu, though they are shown to have to get him to move more as he sleeps much more than he did in ''Rugrats''. He loves to dig and eat.
