Early life
Benjamin Wey is a resident of New York City. He was born in China and came to the United States in his teenage years with only $62 in his pocket to attend college on full academic and Valedictorian scholarships. Wey was educated at Columbia Business School of Columbia University in New York City where he received a master's degree in business administration. He has also been a visiting professor at some universities in the United States and around the world. In addition, he has published articles and comments that give advice, guidance, and perspective on global finance, where he specializes in leadership strategies especially with Chinese companies.| He has been a visiting professor of finance at China University of Petroleum, guest professor at the Zhejiang University School of Management, and a guest lecturer at the University of Maryland. He continues to lecture and speak at other universities.

Benjamin Wey has used his fortune to donate to different charities in significant amounts. He has become involved with the American Cancer Society, Council on Foreign Relations, The Childhood Foundation, Feed the Children, The Red Cross and The Make A Wish Foundation. His work with these organizations, where he has volunteered both his educational background and his financial strength to improve and better many communities.
