We're not here to explain anything to you. Gain consensus/suggest meaningful improvements or get blocked. Alans1977 (talk) 10:43, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Acroterion (talk) 12:03, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
- I know we need to give contributors chances to modify behaviour, but realy, should be a permanent block. Anyone who has followed this knows they clearly refuse to learn and will resume where they left off after the block expires. Timeshift (talk) 22:06, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Timeshift9: You do realize this is an IP address and not a user account, right? This is as silly as Alans1977's sockpuppet investigation. — IP addresses change. Many people have dynamic IPs so their IPs change regularly (e.g. daily) without them doing anything (this may be due to their Internet provider). Also editing Misplaced Pages from a different location (e.g. home vs. work vs. library vs. cafe) will give a different IP. Not to mention the Internet provider may have it setup where an IP is shared among a dozen different users. 'Your' IP one day can easily be someone else's IP the next. That's why a user account gets indef block, while IPs just get progressively longer blocks. A change of IP address isn't sockpuppeting unless they're pretending to be multiple users or they're trying to get around a block. That also why, when putting warning templates on an IP page, you should also insert {{Shared IP advice}}. Kirin13 (talk) 02:22, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't agree with the sockpuppet reporting, as you say it is just two IPs after all. I give Alan the benefit of the doubt, he is still a new user and still learning the ropes (actually, upon checking, his first edit was March 2007, but heightened/noticeful activity only began this year). However, a perm ban would perhaps just possibly just maybe indicate to the user that he is doing something severely wrong and needs to change his behaviour and admit he was wrong in his constant misinterpretation of rules/guidelines. By your apparent interpretation, we shouldn't be placing bans on IP accounts at all - think about it... Timeshift (talk) 02:29, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- Seven years is a long time to be learning the ropes. I guess he's a particularly slow case, and that's why he doesn't really get what IP address are, still doesn't know what is vandalism and what is merely an edit he disagrees with, and thinks that this and this are useful things to have done. 190.44.133.67 (talk) 02:46, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
