==Chicago== | |||
I am also quite interested in ] - the people, institutions, and history of that fine city. I have visited the city several times over the years, most recently in 2004 when I spent several days in Chicago. There's no place quite like Chicago on the face of this planet.
I am also a fan of a certain ] football team that is from Chicago, as well as a certain north side ] baseball team that is based in Chicago.
==Old Computer Software and Systems==
] | |||
One of my hobbies is the history of computer systems and software, going all the way back to the EINIAC. I'm especially interested in those computer and video console systems and software that were made since computers first came into the home. This includes the ] - which could be considered the first computer I had. I'm also interested in computers like the ] and ] - computers in various retail stores as I was growing up that my parents wouldn't buy or let me buy.
===Old Video Games=== | |||
One thing I've been doing lately is adding or expanding articles of old video games to Misplaced Pages - especially old ] games. I do make an effort when adding or expanding articles to see exactly what platforms it runs on as the publishers may have made several versions of the game for the various video console and home computer platforms that were floating around at the time. If I worked on an article about a game and you know of any additional platforms that I may have missed, I would appreciate it if you could add those platforms to the article.
==Organs== | |||
] at ], ].]] | |||
I've been interested in ]s (the musical insturment variety) for a number of years now. I'm especially interested in ]s. I sometimes wish that I could play the organ and that I had stuck with playing music when I was younger.
There's just nothing out there that compares to a pipe organ when properly played. Organs - especially larger ones - are capable of such a range, from the softest wispers of music up to stuff so loud that it seems like it causes the building to shake. And in many cases it seems like organs were designed with making a visual statement in mind. They seem to be designed to not only be a work of art musically, but visually as well.
Recently, something I've been doing is building up some articles for pipe organ builders, both past and present. I've added the ones I know about. If any of you out there have any additions or corrections that, please feel free to make changes. If you know of any builders that I missed, I hope you'd add information to Misplaced Pages. I really appreciate any assistance in this area.
