Goodgame Studios is an online games company founded in 2009 by Kai Wawrzinek, Christian Wawrzinek, Fabian Ritter and based in Hamburg, Germany. They have created several games, including "Goodgame Empire", "Goodgame Big Farm", "Goodgame Galaxy", "Goodgame Gangster" and "Goodgame Poker".

Goodgame Studios uses the global payment service Xsolla. They have 900 staff and over 200 million different player accounts have been created in their games. Empire is stated as a free to play game, but in app purchases such as rubies and their prices have been heavily criticised by the gamers app reviews and the game forums.

Goodgame Empire

Goodgame Empire is a free-to-play strategy game created by Goodgame Studios and launched in November 2012. In January 2014, Goodgame Empire reached 50 million registered players. As of June 2014, almost 60 million players have registered. The game is set in medieval times, where the player must build up a castle and use troops to attack both computer-controlled and player enemies. Players gain experience points to level up and can control more castles and outposts as their level increases. Gold is the main currency, used to recruit troops, and rubies are a premium currency which can be earned in limited amounts or purchased using real money.

The game was released as an Android app under the name Empire: Four Kingdoms on September 30, 2013. On Amazon.com, it had a customer review rating of 3.2 out of 5 stars from 318 ratings.

Goodgame Big Farm

Goodgame Big Farm is a free-to-play strategy created by Goodgame Studios. It has roughly 28 million players (as of June 2014). Players build up farms, producing and selling products for dollars, the main currency. Players can join co-operatives and complete challenges set by events for extra rewards. Gold is the premium currency, which can be earned or purchased with real money.
