{{unblock|reason=Seriously, is this a wind up? Is this some kind of candid camera exercise? I put in many hours work into that article, and every single thing I added came from the BBC. I was being very careful to filter the trivia from the important facts. Then the other guy came out of the blue without a single message to me and ripped out half of it, claiming what I added was just promotional made up chit chat only suitable for facebook. So, I decided to rework what little he left in the article, removed all the stuff I knew from working on it wasn't true, and all the stuff which (to me at least) looks like the sort of writing you wouldn't expect in Misplaced Pages, and bang, I'm told I'm being "disruptive". Seriously, is this a joke? Is this how you usually treat people who put HOURS of their night into improving articles here? |

Welcome!

April 2015
Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Misplaced Pages articles, as you did to Gunther Holtorf. Doing so violates Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 04:06, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages, as you did at Gunther Holtorf, you may be blocked from editing.
Your edits have been automatically marked as vandalism and have been automatically reverted. This is your final warning. You may be blocked from editing without further notice the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Gunther Holtorf. I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message. (talk to me) (contributions) @ 04:27, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Oh right. I'm a vandal. What about the guy who ripped out half the page, destroying many hours of my work, dismissing it as 'facebook chit chat'? Despite the fact I was extremely careful to make sure every fact I added was not overly trivial, and could be found in the BBC piece?
Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:Drmies. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. Ian.thomson (talk) 04:45, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
You cannot be serious. My work gets trashed and I get get insulted and called a vandal, and the only reaction to my anger at that is to be told not to call the person doing that a jerk?
- Right at the top of the edit window, it says "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. Work submitted to Misplaced Pages can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone..." - In other words, no one owns their additions to this site (see WP:OWN), and is free to undo new material that is not adequately sourced. Did you consider politely asking what was wrong with what you added? Did you consider that there are existing social contracts meant to ensure quality, that other more experienced users would know more about than you? One user already tried linking some important ones for you already. Ian.thomson (talk) 04:54, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Did you consider how polite it was to rip out half my work, even though it was quite clearly sourced to the BBC? Did you consider that what I wrote wasn't remotely made up "facebook chit chat", and if anyone here should be engaging someone politely it should be the person making such insults, not the person whose work was just destroyed.
You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week for persistent disruptive editing, as you did at Gunther Holtorf. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
