Template:Linkless-date Eton mess is a strawberry, meringue and cream dessert traditionally served at Eton College on 4 June. Eton Mess is a traditional English dessert named for the private Boys School, Eton College. On June 4th they hold their annual prize giving picnic (where students receive awards for the school year) and the day celebrates the birthday of King George III, the most beloved of the school's Royal patrons (many royal family members have attended). It can consist of many summer fruits but strawberries are the tradition.
