Magazine Management: FILM International
Sorry but referring to this mag as a publication about "X-rated movies" is incomplete and misleading. See for yourself http://www.moviemags.com/main.php?title=FILM%20INTERNATIONAL%201975&etos=% It is not explicit, there are articles about such mainstream actors as Robert Redford, and covers feature softcore or mainstream actresses like Sylvia Kristel and Valerie Perrine. Here they have an article scan saying that the magazine release party was attended by Hollywood luminaries like King Vidor, Robert Wise, George Pal... Would these people really get involved with a mag simply "about X-rated movies"? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3208680 — Preceding unsigned comment added by SD3107E (talk • contribs) 03:37, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Mohamed Hadid
On 4 January 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mohamed Hadid, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that devout Muslim Mohamed Hadid, a lifelong teetotaler, owns a 5,000-bottle wine cellar and a Beverly Hills winery? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mohamed Hadid. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Your recent editing history at New Girl shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - CC of response at User talk:AussieLegend:
- 3RR does not apply in cases of vandalism. Contrary to your assertion, the RfC absolutely said reliable sourcing is required for runtime.
- Here are the exact words by the closing admin: "The point at issue was, narrowly, are we allowed to use running time figures measured by individual editors directly. The answer is an unambiguous "no"< for the same reason that we would not allow such sources for the height of an actor or the size of a building. --Guy (Help!) 18:14, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- And I will take this to any 3RR claim, so I imagine WP:BOOMERANG may be a concern. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:55, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- Per Misplaced Pages:Vandalism#Boldly editing,
Bold edits, though they may precede consensus or be inconsistent with prior consensus, are not vandalism unless other aspects of the edits identify them as vandalism.
The RfC did not close with a consensus and RfCs are not binding. Therefore, your edits were not reversion of vandalism. --AussieLegend (✉) 18:53, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- Per Misplaced Pages:Vandalism#Boldly editing,
- Yes, your edits are vandalism since they deliberately defy WP:NOR, one of the cornerstones of Misplaced Pages. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:07, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- Original research is not vandalism. I suggest you actually read WP:VAND. --AussieLegend (✉) 19:48, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- Reinserting OR over and over when told you're violating a core Misplaced Pages policy is absolutely vandalism. So are deliberately disruptive edits. The fact no admin agrees with you at your ill-advised 3RR claim about me (below) should indicate that my reversion of your such edits was not edit-warring.--Tenebrae (talk)
Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion
Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Misplaced Pages's policy on edit warring. - For anyone interested, not only was there no determination of edit-warring at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Tenebrae reported by User:AussieLegend, but the closing admin of the RfC issue in question even chastised this contentious other editor for his actions. Once more, TV running times in infoboxes require reliable sourcing. Just like everything else. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:15, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

- Here is what the passage that I removed said: "According to John B. Poindexter, Scalia died in his sleep from natural causes." John B. Poindexter is not a doctor or a medical examiner and cannot state a cause of death. --Tenebrae (talk) 04:11, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

- I removed solely the one mention noted above. What other editors may have done, I couldn't say. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:55, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- John B. Poindexter was only mentioned once, upfront, as the owner of Cibolo Creek Ranch where US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was last seen alive. Please indicate why you deleted the 1 mention. 74.88.32.47 (talk) 23:14, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- For the millionth time, because it claimed that this businessman and ranch-owner had somehow declared a cause of death, which he cannot do. He's not a doctor. He's not a medical examiner. He's not the judge who eventually declared a cause of death. Why are all you suspiciously similar anon IPs not getting this? --Tenebrae (talk) 23:18, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- Who did declare a cause of death for Antonin Scalia? Per Gawker (& Slate), Guevara went from unspecified “natural causes” to heart attack (or “myocardial infarction”) before reverting back to “natural causes” again—not a heart attack. One point everyone can agree on is that Cinderela Guevara herself never saw the body. Is Poindexter qualified to declare a cause of death? As you point out, of course he isn't. And yet reports are that no one on scene at his ranch at the time was qualified to do so, which is quite notable.. Optim.usprime (talk) 23:48, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- No, under Texas law it's not notable. That's why Texas law allows you to do it over the phone. Enough with the conspiracy theories. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:55, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Please try to not scare off the newbies. Wikinerdbermuda has made less than 20 mainspace edits and most likely had no idea what edit warring even was. Superman
Hi, I noticed BaronBifford removed a large part of the Publication section in the Superman article. I was wondering if he had consensus to do so or if it was just part of many other random edits he made on his own. That section, as you may recall, had a cover of Action Comics #1 vol. 2 showing the new look of the comic juxtaposed with the original one from 1938. I think it should be restored but seeing the laundry list of edits made by BaronBifford, I wasn't sure if a consensus was reached to removed the ladder half of the Publication section. Max Gaines
Hi Tenebrae,
I would like your advice about the year of birth of Max Gaines. It is written 1894 with a source from the NY Times, but we can't read this source. I retrieved this source that I'll give you a link. It is said on the source from August 20, 1947 that he is 56 years old. With calculs, that gives me he was born between August 21, 1890 and August 20, 1891, not 1894. Thank you to have read me. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9C02E3D81631E13BBC4951DFBE66838C659EDE --Danielvis08 (talk) 22:59, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi again,
Sorry for my english, I'm speaking more in french. I made a research on Max Gaines who take me about 4 hours. JACKPOT. The NY Times is false. I have a true proof that Gaines is born between April 1894 and April 1895 --> The U.S.Census of 1940. You can enlarge and deplace the document. You will see on the Census from April 1st 1940 who have been rediged on April 7, 1940 that at this time Max C. Gaines was 45 yers old. On the Census you can also see he is Publisher of books, he was born in New York, his wife Jessie K. was 43, his son William, 18 and daughter Elaine, 12. Here is the famous Census jewel. It's a great find I think, this document. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KQLG-7BQ Thanks. --Danielvis08 (talk) 18:01, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Captain America image
Hey buddy. I just wanted to get your opinion about something. I see that you uploaded File:CaptainAmerica109.jpg. Honestly, I never really liked that image. We already have much better examples of Kirby's work already in the article. There's nothing specifically wrong with it, it just a personal taste. I was thinking we could use this image instead but since you uploaded the existing image I wanted to get your opinion instead of just replacing it. If you don't want to change it, no worries. Its been there since 2011, so I think most people must be okay with it.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:29, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- You're right its not full body but to be fair most of the detail in Cap's uniform is in his upper half except for maybe his cavalier boots. The trade off is that Ross gives more detail to elements that are shown particularly in the scales and its not like there aren't any other images to fill in the gaps. Also I think the low angle shot and pose gives the image some gravitas and better captures Cap's persona. Yes the 'A' is washed out a bit but its not like you can't make it out. Again, this is just a matter of personal taste and I completely understand if you disagree.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:22, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Mariah Carey
Hi,
Just to let you kwow what the NY TIMES says she was born March 27, 1970 http://www.nytimes.com/movies/person/10883/Mariah-Carey/biography --Danielvis08 (talk) 22:35, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
If the NY Times article says she was named after the song "And They Call the Wind Maria" from the movie Paint Your Wagon (1969) and the movie Paint Your Wagon was released on October 15, 69, she can't be born March 27, 1969. -> https://en.wikipedia.org/Paint_Your_Wagon_%28film%29 In the wiki article on "early life" they cite the wrong Paint Your Wagon 1951 movie. It's this Paint Your Wagon 1969 that the NY Times cite. Me I think that his parents saw this movie in theater and when she was born they called her Mariah. I left a note on the Talk Page of Mariah also. "Columbo". --Danielvis08 (talk) 22:41, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- And when I am here, I checked the two 1969 sources cited. This one is not valid since they say she was 41 and there is a photo that they cite from April 30, 2011 http://www.cbsnews.com/news/mariah-carey-im-pregnant/ then she was born March 27, 1970. I know this is copyr. 2010 but if they cite April 11, 2011 also it's strange. And the other one from Newsday they cite she is 44 in 2013 but they can had taken this info from the CBS article or made a false calculation. What did you think of my deductions. --Danielvis08 (talk) 01:47, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe I'm not crazy about 1970. The birth certificate of his infant twin Monroe in L.A. where it's written she was born March 27, 1970 and you can see Mariah's signature that certifies. Please read the document and you can enlarge it by clicking on it to see better. I can't convince you no more than this... http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/22200000/Mariah-s-Twins-Birth-Certificates-mariah-careys-lambs-22216351-605-792.jpg Thanks. --Danielvis08 (talk) 06:38, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, D. The alleged birth certificates that have appeared online were addressed in the archives at Talk:Mariah Carey. Please see, for example, the post signed "Hoary 01:20, 22 January 2014". Hoax documents have been known to circulate on the Internet, and these particular ones aren't posted on any official County of Los Angeles site so the question arises: Where did they come from? Who outside the family could have obtained the children's birth certificates and scanned them? And if it was the family, why didn't the family post and announce it, rather than have them mysteriously "show up" at a couple of minor sites — and not a mainstream publication that would have vetted them? A non-vetted, alleged primary source anonymously posted to a fan site is not RS in any way. --Tenebrae (talk) 13:36, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Stella Stevens birthyear
Hi
For Stella Stevens birthyear all the sites says October 1, 1938, but english wiki says 1936. The source from wiki says she was 3 in the U.S.Census 1940 but we can't have access. But by familysearch we got access to the U.S.Census 1940 and it gives she was 1...I think someone has made a crafty vandalism and she was really born October 1, 1938... https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VB3G-541 --Danielvis08 (talk) 19:17, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for Stella Stevens. I corrected also Sprague Cleghorn from the sources from the Newspapers from Montreal and Ottawa and for H. G. Peter I made a research on google and I found no source that say that he died January 1, 1958. All say only in 1958. The only source that I found that gives a precise death date is this french source and it gives December 1, 1958. http://www.bedetheque.com/auteur-35679-BD-Peter-Harry-George.html So I just corrected and put the year 1958 only. For Mariah Carey, I understand now that you must put the two years since she can be lying. And if you are aware about birth or death dates or years that you are not sure about someone, you can let me a message on my talk page and give me the names of the persons and I will try to make a research to help you and wiki. Thanks. --Danielvis08 (talk) 15:54, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Yes, Howard University
Your supposition is correct; the first African-American president of Howard University was Mordecai Wyatt Johnson, appointed in 1926. I am not sure that he is the first African American to serve as president of an independent college or university. The Misplaced Pages article for M. Lee Pelton makes the unsourced claim for him as the first—in the lede and further down. — Neonorange (talk) 04:52, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Dorothy Woolfolk
Just wanted to send you a belated thanks for your revert at Dorothy Woolfolk. When adding information from reliable sources, I often run across interesting stuff that I'm not sure belongs in an article or not. I've decided that in such cases it is best to err on the side of inclusion, so it's always reassuring to know that there are villigant editors out there who can provide a second opinion on my edits.--NukeofEarl (talk) 15:07, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
WHAT A FANTASTIC FIND !!!!!!
See what I found on the Talk page of Dorothy Malone...--Danielvis08 (talk) 05:39, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
- See what I found and say on my Talk Page (subject: Dorothy Malone) about: Dorothy Malone, Doris Day, Lee Grant, Lizabeth Scott, and probably others like Jacqueline White whom Census record suggest she was born between April 1923 and April 1924..., it's really incredible !!! --Danielvis08 (talk) 05:06, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Emotions?
I deal in emotions and not facts? I think I have good reasons to hate those lines and have tried arguing them with you. While Misplaced Pages's rules regarding notability include press coverage as a criteria for inclusion, they do not mandate mentioning the press coverage itself. And here mentioning press coverage does not provide any insight to the character of Superman. BaronBifford (talk) 07:12, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Dear Tenebrae: This J. Schaul. I noticed a tag was placed on my page today. I have made a number of edits to the article over time, but I think it is an objective and neutral account. I'd really like to prevent it from being deleted. Is it possible to just put a block on it or block me from it. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.Jpop73 (talk) 00:41, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Dear Tenebrae, Thank you again for your advice. I'm concerned because the proposed deletion discussion has not taken any particular new direction, but editors keep adding the discussion to article deletion pages related to different topics. My sense is that some of these editors are trying very hard to get my page deleted or is this just part of the process of review? For instance, they have copied the general deletion discussion to academic deletion and Ohio deletion pages. I hold advanced degrees, but have never claimed to be an academic researcher. I'm a practitioner, and always have been as a curator who was appointed courtesy faculty and research positions. I also don't live in Ohio. I think of myself as a zoologist and nature writer who has worked as an animal trainer both independently and for facilities. Should my article reflect that more? As a journalist, I do a lot more writing in publications than I have articles written about me and that seems to be the nature of the journalis profession. I've been told on multiple occassions that I meet the notability requirements for a Misplaced Pages article, so I feel that I'm being a bit unfairly treated. Am I being unreasonable. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks- Jpop73 (talk) 01:48, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Ed Bassmaster
Hi Tenebrae,
I made some research on Ed Bassmaster. His real name is Edwin Rodriguez and not Edwin Martin Barry II, it's an invention from an IP some months ago and nobody noticed it by putting a social number with a name then made another edit and making a comment that he forgot the "II" then erased the social number. And I saw you reverted another IP who put a social number on the birth name. But he really comes from Philly -> http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/television/Notorious-Philly-prankster-Ed-Bassmasters-CMT-show-gets-release-date.html I read the article and now I know he make pranks on Youtube and maybe the two differents IP's vandals are only one...HIM! Friendly. --Danielvis08 (talk) 00:31, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
